This chapter is hopefully going to be a bit longer with a couple important scenes for later in the book. :)

*Brooke's P.O.V.*

"Remember when we'd always go Penny boarding together?" Athena asked as we started riding down the trail behind the football field.

We would always ride back here at night and talk to each other and being on the path brought back so many memories.

"Remember when we were riding down the path and Jocelyn fell into the stream?" Cam asked laughing making Jocelyn blush.

"This is why I never liked you." Joceyln sarcastically replied.

The chatter between my friends bought me to my own thoughts. What would life be like if I just stayed here. Looking over at Athena and Joceyln, I realized they probably would've never picked a boy over me. I never did with Cam. I blew him off plenty of times to have time with them.

"Brooke do you remember the time we had a picnic out here?" Cam asked me as we rode through an empty lot of open land. "Guys do you realize we only have a year and a half left of high school?" I said ignoring his memory.

"My dad already has me looking at colleges." Jocelyn said.

"Exactly we aren't going to be together much longer. That's why I had to transfer." Cam said. "I missed you guys and everything we had."

*Ashley's P.O.V.*

"So why are we here?" I asked Shawn as we pulled into his friend Johnny's driveway.

"Matt is here and they wanted me to come over. Brooke is over I bet and she probably bought that hot guy with her." He replied rolling his eyes.

"Brooke's hanging out with him now she's a luck-"

"Ashely!" He yelled cutting me off.

"Aw is Shawn jealous of the hot guy?" I asked pinching his blushing cheeks. "It's ok baby I love you and nobody will ever change that." I said kissing his nose before I jumped out of the car.

We walked down to the basement to where Johnny and Matt were. "Why him? Why? This doesn't make any since."

"What doesn't make since?" Shawn asked sitting next to me.

"Yeah, and where's Brooke?"

Matt rolled his eyes. "She's with her boyfriend, Cameron."

"Wait I thought you guys were dating." I said confused.

"Yeah and who's this Cam kid?" Shawn asked rubbing Matt's back.

"That "hot" guy all the girls were all over in the hallway today. Apperently he transferred here to be with Brooke. They dated for two years."

"See Shawn, I told you Brooke was lucky." I said making Shawn and Matt give me a death stare.

"What? He's hot." I said being competely honest.

Matt rolled his eyes and walked over to the other side of the room. "You know what's sad? I was planning on spending the rest of my life with her. I felt as if I was in love with her. But what's even more sad is that these feelings won't change."

*Brooke's P.O.V.*

I put my books down at my desk in homeroom and sat down next to Matt.

"What no hi?" I asked. Instead of giving me any form of human contact with me, he turned away and raised his hand.

"Yes, Matt?" Mr. Connors spoke as the homeroom bell rang.

"Can I move my seat to over there?" He asked pointing to the empty seat next to a skinny boy who sat in the corner picking his nose the whole time. Basically he's a second grader in a 17 year old's body. Him and Matt didn't get along and I knew that. So why was he moving?

"Yes, ok." Mr. Connors said smiling at Matt.

I watched as Matt grabbed his stuff and pulled the desk away from the boy. He then sat down, groaning.

"Ok guys today we'll be doing quick little survey before going to our first per-"

"I'm here." Nate shouted walking into class. He looked at the open spot next to me and smirk.

"Matt." I whisper/shouted to Matt. He didn't look my way, he just kept looking at Mr. Connors.

"Matthew!" I spoke a little bit louder but of course he continued to ignore me.

Nate started walking towards me but thank gosh Mr. Connors pulled him back down into his seat in the front of the class.

Once Mr. Connors started talking again, he was interrupted again this time by our principal followed by, Cam?"

"Hello ladies and gentlemen. This is our new student Cameron Dallas. He's joining our school and I'd like you to all be welcoming to him. Have a good day everyone." He finished and walked out leaving Cam behind.

Matt picked up his things and the started to come back making Mr. Connors snap his fingers at him. "You wanted to sit there, Mr. Espinosa. That's where you're sitting for the rest of the year. Cameron you can sit in the empty seat there next to-"

"Brooke Jamenson." Cam said as he started walking towards me.

"Oh, you two met."

"Yeah, we go way back." Cam winked at me as he sat down.

Suddenly a piece of paper came flying at me. It landed on my desk catching me totally off gaurd.

I picked up the paper and looked around the classroom to notice that nobody was looking my way.

I slowly unfolded the paper and gasped at what it said inside.
