Carter's POV

Chase picked me up for school this morning. I liked riding on his motorcycle. It was like a brief moment of time where I was truly free. Nobody else was with me and I was soaring through the air. I had no cares, I gave no cares, and I felt like I was the most powerful person in the world. Unfortunately, this feeling couldn't last forever. After 15 minutes, we arrived to school and reality struck. Everything was back to the way it was.

Chase held my hand as we walked to the doors. I heard someone call my name. I turned around and saw Zach waving for me to come over. Chase kissed my cheek and continued on. I went to talk to Zach.

"Carter, you need to go talk to Colin. Did you forget?" he said quickly.

"Um what?" I was confused.

"Yesterday evening, you told him to meet you at the bleachers before school. Now go to him." He pushed me forward.

"Oh okay." I was confused but continued on to the bleachers. Just as Zach had said, Colin was waiting for me. When I got there, he kissed me. He kissed me passionately. I missed these kisses. I kissed him back. He pulled away and rested his forehead on my forehead.

"I've missed you so much." He whispered.

"I missed you, too."

"What did you want to meet for?" he asked. I was still confused.

"I didn't ask you to meet me. Zach told me you were waiting for me over here."

"You texted me that you wanted to meet."

"No I didn't."

Colin shook his head and pulled out his phone. He showed me the texts.

"Colin, I was with Angel in the hospital. She must've texted that to you while I was using the bathroom."

Colin looked disappointed. I felt guilty and betrayed. I was done with Angel for good. She kept playing these little games and she was using everyone around her as a pawn. Well this pawn had snapped and it was done.

"Colin, I am so sorry. Chase and I have been talking a lot lately, though. I don't want the whore reputation to stick." I was rejecting him after I cheated on him. I was convinced I had issues.

"I'm not gonna wait forever, Carter. Make up your damn mind. You say you're talking to Chase but here you are saying you miss me and kissing me. You use people. I won't let you use me anymore. I'm done." He angrily walked away, clenching his hands into fists.

I had screwed up big time. I doubt if Colin would ever talk to me again.

I had no one left to talk to except for Chase. I texted him.

Me: I really need you rn

Chase: Where are you?

Me: Bleachers

Chase: on my way

Three minutes later, Chase came and picked me up. He hugged me tightly. He sat down and pulled me into his lap. I just cried on his shoulder. It was weird because I was crying for Colin on his shoulder. I wanted Colin, but I didn't want to seem like a slut and go back and forth between the two. I didn't want people to treat me like Angel.

Chase rubbed my back and wiped my tears. He was so caring, but he wasn't Colin. He wasn't enough.

"How about we go out on a date Saturday?" he asked.

I didn't want to be rude and say no considering the fact that we had been hanging out together a lot.

"Sure." I answered. Colin was over me and Chase wanted a chance. I needed to let go of Colin. Chase would be my escape. Colin did call me a user. Maybe it was true.

After school, I went home to get ready for the party tonight. I had been to plenty of parties mainly because Colin was popular and he always wanted me to come with him.

I got dressed first. I wore low waisted shorts with a black sweater and black high heels. For my makeup, I winged my eyeliner, applied light nude eye shadow, and added mascara. I topped it all off with pink lipstick.

I knew I looked skimpy, but I didn't care. I had no one to impress anyway.

As I was putting on my shoes, Chase pulled into my driveway. He didn't have his motorcycle. Instead, he was driving a black Toyota. It was nice to see a change.

Chase let himself in and kissed me.

"You look beautiful." He said in between kisses. Colin would've asked me to change so that he wouldn't have to fight anyone for checking me out. Chase didn't do that. He probably didn't care.

"Thanks." I smiled half-heartedly.

"Ready?" he asked. I nodded my head in response.

The party was lit. It seemed like everyone was there. Chase and I walked into the kitchen. I wanted food and he wanted liquor. I would be driving us home tonight.

I found a box of pizza with three slices left. I grabbed two and started to eat. I looked around and took in my surroundings. I saw Colin dancing with a brunette. I don't know why they just didn't rip each other's clothes off right then and there seeing as they were basically dry humping each other. I noticed that she kept her hands low. She had two fingers in his belt loop. She stood on her tippy toes and kissed him. He kissed her back, but it was sloppy and rough. He didn't kiss her like how he kissed me.

I was jealous. Colin wasn't my boyfriend and I was trying to focus on Chase, but this brunette wasn't making it easy. Chase must've noticed the scene I was looking at. He grabbed my hand and dragged me onto the dance floor. My back was to his stomach and we were swaying like this. Every so often, he would kiss my neck and run his hands up and down my arm. I think Colin had caught sight of this because he and the brunette went upstairs.

I knew from high school movies that when a boy and a girl went upstairs that bad things were bound to happen. I had to stop it. I told Chase I was going to use the bathroom. I got up the stairs just in time to see which room they disappeared into. I listened outside the door for about five minutes. I heard giggling and decided enough was enough.

I turned the knob and walked into a horrific nightmare.

Colin was kissing the brunette as she unbuttoned his shirt while straddling him. I used to do that to him. We used to have fun like that.

"Don't do something you will regret." I looked directly at Colin. The girl glared at me so I raised my cup to her. There was only soda inside but I still felt like a boss.

I went back downstairs and found Chase talking to some girl. Once again, I had to mark my territory.

I walked over to them and placed myself beside Chase. I stood on my tippy toes and whispered in his ear while running my hand over his abs. The girl puffed and walked away. She wasn't wanted here anyway.

Chase chuckled to himself.

"Are you okay?" he asked.

"Yeah, why?"

"What was that about?"

"I had to let her know what was mine."

"Did you just call me yours?"

Uh oh. I didn't know if this was good or bad.

"I think I did." I replied nonchalantly.

"So am I your boyfriend then?" he asked nervously. This was it. My next words made my future. I wanted so badly to say no, but I had to say yes. I couldn't make Chase hate me too.

"Yes." I bit my lip.

"Okay, girlfriend." Chase smiled and kissed me.

He still wasn't Colin, though.
