Carter's POV
I had spent the day with my mom. We finally went to the jewelry store and pawned all the expensive jewelry I had found in my dad's safe. We racked up $50,000. All the jewelry used to belong to my great-grandma. The gold and silver were real. The diamonds and rubies were real. The employee that helped us with the exchange was so pleased that they were excited to get the stuff off our hands.
My mom and I then went to the mall to spend some of our newfound money on clothes. I basically bought a whole new wardrobe and my mom bought new makeup. She wasn't too big on clothes, but makeup was her pride and joy.
Today was my one month anniversary with Chase. He wanted to cook dinner for us so I was supposed to go to his house around 7pm.
At 5:30, I started to get ready. I curled my hair at the tips. I wore a red dress that was easy for Chase to slip off of me because I knew he would. Logan and I had gone to the mall over the weekend, and I managed to slip into Victoria's Secret and buy some red and black lingerie. I wanted to look special
An hour and a half later, I was knocking on Chase's door.

Angel's POV
I heard a knocking on Chase's door.
"Are you ready?" I asked.
"Yes."
I took off my shirt and pants and lay in his bed in just my underwear. Chase stripped down to his underwear and climbed on top of me. He smelled so nice.
Chase had the most beautiful body. He had really evolved since the last time I saw him naked. I so badly wanted to reach out and touch him. I wanted to grab and kiss him all night, but if I did that then he would probably kill me.
Every time Chase was rude to me, it broke my frozen heart more and more. With every word, my heart was slowly dying. He would never know how much I truly loved him and there was no point in trying to tell him now. Chase hated me with a passion. What goes around comes around.
"When you hear her getting closer, start making noises and kiss me." I told him.
"Whatever." He rolled his eyes.

Carter's POV
Chase wasn't answering his door, so I let myself in. He was probably in the shower or something. I walked through the house looking for him. I didn't see him. I decided to check his room.
As I was getting closer, I keep hearing weird noises. Someone was moaning and someone else was groaning. They got louder as I got closer. I finally got to the door and opened it.
With every second, my heart broke. From the time I opened the door to the time when I dropped my bag.
Chase was with Angel in bed.
What hurt the most was that he was with Angel. He knew how I felt about her. If he was going to cheat on me, he could've done it with someone else. Anyone but her.
"Chase?" I whispered in a shaky voice.
Chase threw Angel to the side and she hit her head on the wall. He ran over to me and grabbed my hand.
"Carter, I'm sorry." He rubbed my hand. I started to cry.
"How could you do this to me? On our anniversary?"
"I don't know what I was thinking. She's disgusting. She was just a booty call."
"Was I not doing enough? What did I do wrong?" My voice was still shaky.
"Nothing, babe. I screwed up."
I couldn't face him anymore. I looked over his shoulder and saw Angel lounging in his bed with a smirk on her face. I grabbed my bag off the floor and left.
I was still crying. I ran to my car and started it. I was backing out the driveway when Chase ran outside. He tried to jump in my car, but I was too fast. I sped out of there.
I was driving and crying with intensity. It was hard to see through my tears but once again I didn't care. Nobody gave a shit about me so why should I just care all of a sudden.
My mind was racing. I was thinking about everything. I should've never cheated on Colin. I never should've dated Chase. For once in my life, I had regrets.
I was going over the speed limit. I was speeding through an intersection so fast that I almost missed the next couple of seconds. A little girl ran into the road to retrieve her soccer ball. I almost hit her, but I swerved just in time. The car crashed into a tree and I was out cold.

Beep, beep, beep.
I woke up in scrubs. My mom was crying over me. I wanted to tell her that I was alright, but I couldn't speak. I tried to open my mouth but it wouldn't move. I could only wiggle my fingers a little bit.
"Doctor, she's awake!" I heard my mom yell.
I saw a man in white lab coat walk into the room.
"Blink twice for yes and blink once for no" He commanded me, "Can you hear me?"
I blinked twice.
"Can you see me?"
I blinked twice.
"Can you move any part of your body?"
I blinked twice.
"Move what you can move."
I wiggled my fingers and the doctor nodded. He then turned to my mother.
"She can't move much right now. By tomorrow, she should be able to do a lot more. This is only temporary. Eventually, she will be able to talk, too."
My mom thanked him and he left. She moved her chair closer to me and started to rub my hair.
"I love you so much, sweetheart." She whispered through her tears.
I felt a tear slip down my cheek. My life was officially screwed up
