Angel's POV

My week had been dragging. It was finally Thursday. That meant prom was tomorrow.

Talia and Carter didn't do much except sneak in sly comments when they passed me in the hall. I always shook it off.

Mike had been coming to school to eat lunch with me. Well, sometimes we would actually eat lunch. Others times, ya know.

I snorted some more of the substance that Mike had laid out on the table.

Mike and I had been doing drugs more and more. I really was addicted. I even snorted a bit at school during lunch. I was risking expulsion if caught.

"Hey, want to try something new?" he asked me.

"Sure."

Mike pulled out a green package labeled "SALVIA". Apparently, you had to smoke it. Next, Mike pulled out a bong from his backpack.

"I haven't done this before." He said.

"There is a first for everything." I smiled.

Mike and I smoked the herb for what seemed like a long time but was actually a short time.

"Where did you get this?" I asked.

"This chick named Ella Mae." He answered.

Whatever this stuff was, it was powerful. I felt like I was flying with the birds in the sky. I was seeing things. I was in a stress free world. That meant it had worked.

Stress free. That's what I needed and that's what drugs gave me.

Carter's POV

Logan and I were hanging out tonight. We hadn't hung out, just the two of us, in a long time. He came over to my house and we watched White Chicks.

I had fun being with Logan again.

"Let's go out." Logan suggested.

I agreed and we got into Logan's car. He drove to a park on the other side of town.

"Why are we all the way over here?" I asked.

"To start trouble." He smirked.

Logan parked his car in the parking lot of a park. He got out and went to the trunk. I followed him and watched as he pulled spray paint out the trunk.

"What are you going to do?" I asked nervously.

"Start a gang war." He answered simply.

Logan walked over to the park's information building and spray painted his name on the wall.

"Why did you leave your name? Idiot!"I slapped his arm.

"No. It's the name of a gang. The Logan Heights" he explained.

"Continue."

"This is their rival's territory. If they see this here, it's gonna be on." He smirked.

"Let's get out of here."

We causally walked past a group of guys smoking.

"It's WEST! That simple." one guy yelled while forming his fingers into a W. The other men around him cheered and did the same thing.

I didn't know much about gangs, but I didn't want to find out either.

I picked up the pace and quickly got in the car.

Logan followed me and climbed in. He drove away laughing.

Angel's POV

Mike and I cleaned up our mess and started to make our way home. His parents had to go out tonight, so we would have to babysit the girls.

When we arrived home, Rick was rushing Ruby to hurry up so that they could leave.

"Mikey!" Addison smiled and ran to hug him. Alison came right after. They didn't hug me, though. I think they still hated me because of what Candace said.

Ruby came flying down the stairs. She quickly kissed everyone good bye and she and Rick went on their way.

Ruby was wearing a beautiful red dress with red shoes. Rick was wearing a black button down dress shirt and khakis with dress shoes. I assumed that they were going to something formal.

I put on a Disney movie for the girls to watch. They fell asleep 30 minutes into it. Mike and I put them to sleep and went to do our own thing in my room.

Carter's POV

Around ten o'clock that night, my mom called me into the living room. She was watching something on the news.

She was wearing pink pajamas and her hair was a frizzy mess. She looked like Ms. Frizzle from the Magic School bus.

"Honey, there was a gang fight on the other side of town. I don't want you over there for a while. It's not safe right now." She said.

I was so nervous that I was shaking. Gang activity was illegal. If anyone found out about Logan and I, we would certainly do time in jail.

I kissed my mom good night and went back upstairs to my room.

I tried to sleep, but I only tossed and turned the whole night.
