Carter's POV
Monday morning was always the worst. I was tired because Colin kept me up all night on video chat.
He was being a goofball, but he was a cute goofball.
I dragged myself out of bed and went through my daily routine.
My mom was home from work today, so she cooked me a big breakfast. She made French toast, eggs, bacon, sausage, and biscuits.
I couldn't even eat it all so I took some for lunch.
Colin picked me up for school. We were back to our usual selves.
I left Colin with Zach and Jax before I left to go talk to Talia. We were meeting in the girls' locker room to discuss prom.
She was sitting on the bench texting when I entered.
"Talia, what's up?" I asked.
"Not much, but I had the beat idea ever. It's just beautiful." Talia elaborated.
"Do tell all." I smirked.
"All we have to do is bully Angel into running. We can be like 'You'll never win' which will make her want to run to prove us wrong. "Talia clapped her hands and jumped up and down.
"That's a great idea. I like it. I'm gonna go before we're seen together but come over after school if you have time." I hugged her goodbye and left.
I wanted to find Logan and talk to him about his progress with Talia. Prom would be here in less than two months.
I found him talking to some skaters. They were discussing skateboard tricks by the south entrance.
"Hey, Logan! Come here let me talk to you." I waved him over to me.
He excused himself from his friends and walked over to me.
"What's good?" He asked.
"Talia? What's up with that?" I got straight to the point.
"We've been on two dates already. I'm taking her to the park this weekend for a picnic and then I'll stick my proposal on top of her sandwich. She'll instantly fall in love and then we'll get married and have beautiful babies." He patted himself on the back.
I rolled my eyes, "Good idea, but don't think too deep into it."
Logan changed the topic to our math homework. We talked about that until the bell rang in which we separated to go to class.
Chase and I didn't sit together in English anymore so we could keep a low profile. The operation was running smoothly.
My classes seemed to last for hours today, but they were 45 minutes in reality.
Lunch was where I was most awake.
Just as Talia had said, she went in on Angel at lunch.
I low-key listened. I was pretending to talk to a girl in my World History class.
"Angel, you should totally run for prom queen!" Talia handed Angel a flyer.
"No, I'm perfectly fine." Angel stuffed the flyer in her backpack.
"Carter, are you listening?" the girl asked. I had forgotten her name. Oops!
"Shush. I already told you that you were cover for me to eavesdrop. You have one job. Don't mess it up." I brushed her off. The girl fell silent, but didn't walk away like I was expecting her to.
"Whoa! We have a scaredy cat over here!" I heard Talia say loudly.
"I'm not scared." Angel said just as loudly.
