Angel's POV

The next day, I signed up for prom queen just like I had promised Mike.

Talia approached me and smiled, "I think you'll make a great candidate."

I looked at her blankly and walked away.

I was over all this drama. I did what I had to do and things were getting better.

My mom's death was a blessing in disguise. Although, I would never admit this to Carter.

No one knew about Mike. He was mine.

Actually, Mike wasn't mine. We were always together but we lived in the same house. We hadn't been on a date yet. This worried me.

I vowed that I would not kiss Mike until he asked me out on a date or something to that effect.

I planned on inviting him to my
Prom. He could be my date.

I would love to just rub Mike in Carter's face. I wanted her to see that I was fine by myself. I didn't need her. I didn't need anyone.

Gym class was starting today. All the seniors had to take gym for one month. It was despicable.

If I wanted to work out, I would take myself to the gym and work out.

What was even worse was that we had to wear hideous gym uniforms.

Our school's mascot was the Trojan. Our colors were red and black so our gym uniforms were red and black.

The school made us pay 15 dollars for the shirt and shorts. You could get sweatpants for another five dollars if you wanted to.

I bought all three. If we went outside, I would wear my pants.

I walked into the girls' locker to change. Just to my dismay, Talia and Carter happened to be in my gym class.

I groaned internally. It was going to be a long month.

Carter and Talia both had it out for me. They wanted my head on a silver platter.

I couldn't blame Carter, but Talia had gotten her revenge when she put me in the hospital.

I went to my locker and started to change. Carter had finished already and I saw her walking in my direction.

"Angel, I heard you were running for prom queen." She was obviously being fake. She didn't want to really talk to me and I didn't want to talk to her.

"Yup, I thought it would be fun." I nodded.

"It would be a shame if you lost." She pretended to wipe her eye as if a tear had slid down.

"I probably will. Everyone hates me."

"Not everyone. I'm sure the teachers here like you." She laughed and left the locker room.

Talia was next to leave. She only smirked at me.

I hated this place. I was going to win prom queen. I had to. I had to prove to those two that I was worth something.

I had to get people on my side.

Carter's POV

This was just incredible. Angel and Talia were both in my gym classes. Now I had an excuse to hit Angel with stuff.

Our gym teacher was pretty cool. He was young, fresh out of college. Some girls had crushes on him and tried their hardest to get into his bed.

I didn't care how old you were, if you were a teacher, I would not mess with you.
