the state of denial

Part 21:

The fuss over the statue is over. I never understood the big deal, but everyone's calm now. I overheard some kids at school talking about it, that it was 'epic' or 'fucking awesome'. But I just laugh at them. Because it wasn't epic or awesome, it was lame and stupid.

The Halloween party is tonight. But so is the All Time Low, Pierce The Veil, Mayday Parade and You Me At Six concert so I won't be going to the party.

Cameron's mad. Like super pissed off. But it's not often that my favorite bands come here and when I get the chance to see them live I'll take it.

I feel bad about not going because other than after school I won't see much of Cam anymore. He's leaving school since I was cleared, so I don't need the 'support' anymore. Not that it really matters. We didn't talk much at school anyways.

Dani and Tori are going with me to the concert, Sam didn't buy tickets in time and she's not one to buy tickets at the door. So she's going to the party with Zack.

On our way to the venue and I'm really excited, more than I realized I was and I start shaking of excitement. I scream really loud, open the sun roof and stand up out of it and scream some more.

We wait in line for about 4 hours then we're inside. We push our way to the very front row. Where we wait for another hour for the concert to actually start.

Mayday Parade is up first. They sing Oh Well, Oh Well, Jaime All Over, Somebody That I Used To Know and when Vic Fuentes comes out the three of us go fucking crazy. We scream at the top of our lungs. Then Vic runs out right after his part ends. They finish their set and Pierce The Veil is up next.

They drop confetti all over us and the crowd goes crazy. Never in my life have i ever been this excited. This could very well be the best day of my life. Not a thing could top this.

When Hold On Till May begins Tori squeezes my hand tightly and her eyes are watering. She drops to the floor, breaking down. The guys stop playing and I'm on my knees asking Tori what's wrong.

She remembers. Everything. The accident the before and Vic is at the edge of the stage asking if everything's okay. Security grabs Tori, but Jaime stops them. "Take her back stage." he tells them, making sure the crowd can't hear. He asks me and Dani to stay for the rest of the concert that Tori will be fine, but he wants to know what's wrong. We tell him we'd tell them after. And when Disaterology plays Dani and I scream at the top of our lungs because the guys from Pierce the Veil talked to us. Actually had verbal conversation.

All Time Low come out and I swear they put on the best concert atmosphere I've ever seen. Jack looks at Dani and I twice, telling us to make the crowd jump. No other concert adds up to this one. Not even close.

When Alex sings therapy I don't think I've ever understood the song more that in that very moment than any other time I've heard it. I think it's hilarious how Zacks name is the exact same as the bass player in ATL. Zackary Merrick. So who knows maybe we're related.

Alex tells the crowd he won't sing Stella until at least a thousand of us take our shirts off, so of course we do it because you know Alex Gaskarth made us do it. They finish off with Somewhere In Never Land, For Baltimore and If These Sheets Were States.

You Me At Six comes out last, Loverboy plays, then Stay With Me, Reckless, The Swarm, Bit My Tounge and lastly Underdog. During Underdog Josh stops the song and goes "Who the fuck wants to come on stage and sing this fucking song!?" Dani and I scream and Josh picks us. Security puts us on the stage and we sing. "UNDERDOG, JUST LOOK AT THE MESS YOU MADE!"

We can call tonight a fucking success.

After that we go backstage to see Tori. She's in the PTV dressing room. "How are you?" I ask.
