Third Person POV
As Aimee winced because of getting her blood tested, Celestia could barely see the small girl, for her face was buried on Matthew's chest, unable to see Aimee.
"And.. Done!" The chatty nurse, who had once called Matthew and Celestia 'Mr and Mrs. Jones', said brightly.
"Now-"
Aimee coughed.
Very loudly, for a very long time. "Aimee!" Celestia shrieked, and she gasped as she saw the blood on the little girl's hands, the hands she used to cover her mouth when she coughed.
"Oh, no," she moaned, and Aimee shivered."Leukemia," Matthew whispered, and Celestia could hear his rapid breathing, but she wouldn't dare to look.
"Don't worry, it might be not leukemia! We still have to, uh, check first!" The nurse tried to assure them, but Vera began to cry.
She left in a hurry, she looked very uncomfortable and Celestia could hear the nurse speak in hushed tones with the doctor.
"What if I die?" Aimee stuttered.
Celestia stared at Aimee.
She was small and pale, her eyes were piercing blue, like her brother's, and her hair was the shade of blonde that Vera had, and Matthew didn't inherit.
"You won't be, Aimee." Matthew said the words that rang in Celestia's thoughts.
"I don't wanna die," she wailed. "I wanna be your bridesmaid, Celly."
Celestia managed to hide the lingering blush on her cheeks, and forced a smile at Aimee. "And you will be. Now, why don't you look at some of your favorite things? TV? Nature?"
She asked gently, trying to get the girl to smile.
"I do like TV." Aimee said, thinking. "And I do like nature..." She thought hard, as if she wanted to remember something.
"But there's one thing I like more."
Aimee had a mischievous smirk on her face, her blue eyes sparkling. "There's this one scene, you know.."
Everyone in the room looked at her expectantly; Aimee was only 9, and she had a solid chance of being diagnosed by leukemia that they would do anything to cheer her up.
"But, its not in movies, only real life people can do it." Aimee sighed sadly, and Celestia offered, "tell us. Maybe we can imitate it."
"You would?" Aimee's blue eyes glittered with hope, and it made Celestia smile.
"Of course! What is it, hon?" She asked warmly, and both Vera and Beth smiled at Celestia.
"A kiss scene."
Celestia's smile instantly dropped from her lips.
"A kiss scene?"
She gasped.
"Aimee, you can't be serious -" Matthew tried to reason, but Aimee's gaze was so stubborn.
"Pleeeaseee," she whined, doing the puppy-dog eyes, and both teenagers melted.
"Fine, we'll do it." Celestia muttered.
And they went closer to each other.
"Ready?" Matthew whispered, his voice was dark and quiet it sent chills to Celestia's spine.
"Yes."
And his hands wrapped around her neck, pulling her closer to his chest and she let her hair tangle Matthew's already messy hair.
Their lips connected, and Aimee squealed.
"Okay, you can stop now." Aimee said proudly, but the two didn't even budge. "Ermm, stop." She guessed.
"STOP!" Aimee shrieked, and the two finally gasped for breath. "Oh, God that was amazing." Celestia breathed out, her cheeks red.
"I can't wait to do it again." Matthew smiled brightly, and Celestia nodded. His eyes were hungry as he stared at her, and her eyes were full of passion.
"You can devour each other later, in bed." Aimee said, another smirk forming in her face.
"You two, your love, its a fairytale!" Aimee gushed, her eyes dreamy, the leukemia topic soon forgotten.
"I would love to have to experience a love like yours."
Celestia's eyes darkened, as Aimee's innocent ones searched hers. "Before we're dating like this, it was a painful step."
She stated.
"We argued and bickered and cussed at each other a lot, she kneed me in the groin, twice, and she blew up at me because she needed to sit next to me."
Matthew stated, and they both laughed.
"Because, at that moment, I felt.. Invisible. Like no one was there to help me. No one was there to see me. I love my friends, but they couldn't understand." Celestia said quietly. It was surprising how all your secrets can be revealed after a kiss.
At the end of the explanation, Aimee, the emotional, sweet girl she was, cried. Vera was holding a tight expression, scolding her son at how 'inappropriately' he had treated Celestia.
Beth had given Celestia a severe warning because she cursed too much.
She looked at Daniel for more backup, but he just grinned and said to Beth, "she's a big girl. Its up to her."
Steve was shaking his head, probably because of how complicated his son and his possibly future daughter-in-law's relationship.
"Now, let's tell the story from my point of view." Matthew said.
"When I was with Charlotte, Cel treated me oh-so-coldly like I was hell on earth. It took her a long time to warm up to me, but when she gave me spare chances, I did nothing but let her down."
Matthew's explanation was as complicated as Celestia's.
Aimee had loud, jarring sobs.
"Will you-will you guys get married if you were like this?"
Celestia smiled, her eyes distant yet close.
She quoted her favorite book.
"True love is usually the most inconvenient kind."
Well, yeah.
For Celestia after the rejection Matthew didn't really do anything brutal to accept her hate.
But it was far easier to blame him because she loved him and she was invisible, and he was, very, VERY visible.
She had felt unseen, but in the middle of crawling to visibility, he saw her.
He saw her when she was invisible.
And she was glad she loved no one but him.
