Celestia's POV
Graduation day. Out of four trophies, I earned three, and I was rather proud. Eugene got one, and that earned me bragging rights forever. But it was still impossible. I told myself I love Matthew. And that's true! The only problem was . .
As much as I love him, Chris would always be a part of me.
We were friends since we were kids.
"Hey, princess." Matthew greeted me with a kiss on the tip of my nose. "Hey, Matt." I gave him a smile. But he didn't look as happy as me. "What's wrong?" I asked, squeezing his hand gently. "Oh," he faked a smile. "Nothing."
"Not going to work on me." I said and tossed my hair, making him chuckle. "I'm the best at doing those, and you barely imitated half of me." He sighed.
"My parents have been distant." He said quietly, turning to look at the sky. I glanced at Vera and Steve, sitting beside each other but silently ignoring each other. "Because of-"
"Aimee?" I suggested, and he nodded.
The thought of Aimee still cracked open my heart. She was so young. So good. "It'll be okay," I whispered, trying to sound supportive. "Tell them that."
I scoffed.
"Oh, I will." I muttered with a determined gaze and strutted my way to Vera and Steve.
"Hello, Celestia." Vera said, and through her happy gaze, anyone could know it was fake. "How are you?" "Living in a daydream." I gave them both stern looks. "But you guys aren't, so it seems." They looked up. "I know Aimee's death took a toll on your family. Heck, it took a toll on all of us. But it doesn't mean you guys can be distant! When Aimee died, remember that you still have one more child; Matthew Jones. Your son. When you distance from each other, you're distancing yourselves from him too." I took a deep breath and stared at them.
Vera had a shocked look on her face. Steve's had one I couldn't comprehend; awe or intrigued.
"He doesn't want to feel abandoned. And he has been abandoned. By his sister. She had passed, and so he needs comfort. Mainly, from you two. So don't tell me you're going to ignore to him, too." I sighed, and turned to Matthew. His expression was like his mother's. Shock.
"Think about it." I said, and walked away.
"See, I did." I told him, smiling sadly. He didn't reply, but engulfed me in a hug. "Thank you," he whispered near my neck, and I blushed. "That's what I should do."
And he kissed me.
The passion, the hunger, the hope.
He wrapped his hands on my waist and my hands were tangled in his hair. He was the one who swept me off my feet.
"Ahem." Someone said, and I turned to see Seraphina. My cousin, older by two years, who I rarely see.
"Sera!" I squealed and gave her a hug. "So," she said mischievously. "Is this the guy who you said you had a crush on. Seems to end up like a fairytale." She winked at me. "Seraphina Harolds. Cel's cuz. You're Matthew Jones." She said, her tone stating the 'ah' on her mind.
"Right about that, Seraphina." Matthew gave her a firm handshake.
"But this is the beginning, not the end." I kissed his cheek. "I'm gonna wander around. See you later, babe."
He grinned. "Back at ya, princess."
I walked around the halls of the school, I felt like an explorer roaming the grounds, when in truth, I was just memorizing the halls that I went through every day, that I'll never see again, and that I've learned to miss.
I had accepted my acceptance letter to Harvard, and my friends were all accepted too.
There were so many memories I made at this school.
Happy, sad, love, forgiveness, acceptance, betrayal, joy.
I was stuck in my maze of thoughts, until a certain someone tapped me on my shoulder. I gave myself a whiplash. There he was. Hands on his pockets, standing tall.
"Hey, Cel."
"Christopher." I nodded.
"I have to tell you something." I raised an eyebrow. "Shoot."
"I still love you, Cel. I know you might not love me as much as you love Matthew, but I'll still try." His expression was never begging, but his eyes showed everything.
"Please. Don't give up on me." I looked at him straight in the eye. "Perhaps its you who should give up on me. You know who I love, Chris." I said stubbornly, even though the tiny corner of my heart had whispered, 'you know you love him, too.'
"I know you love the both of us. One bigger than the other." The sadness in his eyes made me realize. I do love him. But Matthew. He wasn't my first crush, but he was my first love. But if I had a crush on Chris, how did I even manage to love Matthew?
"I don't even know anymore." I gave him a glance.
"I need-"
"Time." Chris finished, running his hands through his hair. "Just like your favorite character." I looked down. "If I don't, I can't decide!" I defended myself, feeling torn.
"We have a lot of time, Cel," he said in a matter-of-fact tone. "But I'm afraid I know who will you choose in the end."
He walked away.
I laid my head on the wall, sighing deeply.
Matthew was right.
This was just the beginning.
Author's Note.
Hi! I know this is five chapters less than it should be, but its completed. My phone's LCD cracked, so I have to write from my other phone from now on. I'm currently writing the sequel, 'Torn'. It'll be out in 11th of January 2016.
This is it! Writing this has been real fun. I wanna thank some of my IRL besties who dared me to write and update this. I also want to speak to the boys I based the main guys on. My best friend and my biggest enemy. Thanks to ACrazyNialler, ChrisJCP, and some others *she doesn't want me to say her name, cough, cough*.
Thanks again, and bye!
