"Will you just drive already Wilson?" I hit my head against the window. He was taking forever, checking how he looked in the mirror looking at the girls that walked by. How am I related to this kid?
"Yeah yeah Riley, just a second." He fixed his hair one last time.
"Ugh!" I yelled. "Mom!"
"Snitch." He mumbled
"Yes?"
"Wilson isn't driving! I don't want to be late for school!"
"When you get to grade eleven, trust me you won't mind." He muttered under his breath and started the car.
"THANK YOU!"
As we drove to our school I stuck my hand out the window. I can't believe I'm starting high school! I can't wait for music, I love to sing and I can't wait to show my stuff. Maybe I'll even get a boyfriend.
"Don't get your hopes up, kiddo." Wilson gave me a side look and smirked.
"What?"
"You're thinking high school will be this wonderful thing where all the boys will love you and you'll be a star some day. Well let me tell you one thing, it doesn't work that way. You will eventually hate high school as most teenagers do."
I sighed and looked out my window, what does he know? He isn't me. I love school! That's where all my friends are and where I can be myself. He just thinks I'm going to follow him around like a puppy. Well I'm not twelve. I'm fourteen. When the car slowed down, I sat up straight.
"Why did we stop?" i looked at him curiously.
"I have to pick up a friend."
"Noooo!" I whined. "Not Tanner!"
"Yes Tanner. Why not? he is my best friend." He messed up he hair.
"Ah! It took me an hour to get my hair to look like this!" I complained.
"Maybe you are a teenage girl." He looked past me. "Yo, Tanner!"
I looked up to see my brother's best friend run towards the car. His reddish hair all spiked up everywhere and his blue eyes gleaming. I hate this kid more than anything in the world, you'd think my brother could pick friends better than girls but apparently no.
"Hit the back seat Ri." Tanner smiled at me as he opened the door.
"I was here first." I argued and glared at him.
"Riley, back seat. Now." Wilson gave me a stern look.
"Ugh, fine." I got up, grabbed my bag and sat behind Tanner.
"Why did she have to come? Can't the runt walk?" Tanner whispered to Wilson.
Okay, ouch.
"My mom told me to give her a ride, giv her a break Tanner it's her first day." Wilson said not taking his eyes off the road.
I smiled. I knew Wilson would stand up for me. Even though he did it in a really crappy way.
"Geez, Tanner." I blew I stray hair out of my face "Love you too." I said sarcastically.
He turned to look at me, winked and blew me a kiss. I waved my hand in front of my face.
"Rejected, why you gotta be so rough Ri?" He asked, pretending to be hurt.
"Because. I.Don't.Like.You." I crossed my arms.
"Riley calm down-"
"No!" I cut Wilson off.
Suddenly we were all shouting at each other. Wilson was yelling and running his hand through his hair constantly while I was telling him off. Tanner was telling my brother to calm down, which just pissed him off more. I heard horn's honking and a loud truck horn sound.
"Wilson look out!" Tanner yelled as a car rammed into our's.
And suddenly my world was swelled into darkness.
WIlson's P.O.V.
A loud crash was all that filled my hearing.
And my little sister's scream.
Tanner sat in the passengers seat yelling at me to get out of the car and get my sister. He had a scratch on his arm and a cut above his eye. He placed his hands on my shoulders and shook me like a mad man.
"Christ sake, Wilson! Get you damn sister before she dies! I'll call the paramedics." He yelled and got out of the car, dialing 911.
I saw the driver that hit us- or my rather, my sister was unconcious. I opened the other door and reached for my sister, she was covered in glass and blood. Oh god, Riley please be okay. Please be okay.
The paramedics showed up quicker than expected and took my sister from my arms. "No!" I shouted "She's my sister let me take her!"
"You and your friend can ride with her to the hospital but this is our job now." The man put my little sister, only fourteen and placed her on a stretcher.
Man I have a lot of explaining to do to mom and dad.
