Riley's P.O.V.
I stood in the hallway checking my hair in the mirror.
"Wilson," I said. "Are you sure you don't want to come? Natalie might be there."
He shook his head. "No, I'm not really into parties anymore. Go have fun... but not too much fun."
I smiled and hugged him before meeting Matt at his car, "Okay. Bye Wilson."
"Bye."
When I reached Matt's house there was so many people there. There were people eating, drinking, dancing. I couldn't say that I wanted to join any of these people I just went so Matt could let the whole junior and senior class about us dating. Apparently this made it "Official"? Yeah, okay then. I'll never understand boys.
Matt reached into a cooler and handed me a beer. I never drank before. Unless you counted the few sips of wine I had from my mom. I smiled wearily and took it. It felt kind of weird. I mean he's eighteen! How did he get this stuff when the drinking age is twenty-one?
"You okay?" He shouted over the extremely loud music.
"Yeah." I shouted back.
I spent the majority of the night on Matt's arm. He introduced me to some of his friends and well, I didn't like them. I didn't like it here. I didn't feel comfortable since I was positive Matt was going to end up drunk, and he was going to try something.
"Hey babe." Matt shouted over the music. "Want to dance?" He grabbed my hips and started swaying back and forth.
"No, I'm good." I said looking around.
"C'mon, just one dance?" He smiled.
"No, Matt." I pressed.
"Ple-"
"No!" I shouted. He looked at me with shock, then hurt. But seeing him like this didn't faze me. I didn't want to dance with a drunk guy. Well- he wasn't drunk yet... but it was going to happen sooner or later.
I felt someone grab my arm and I tensed up. If this was one of Matt's fiends trying to dance with me, I'm going to be angry. They are ten times drunker than Matt could ever get.
I ripped my arm out of the person's grasp and turned to see Melissa and Natalie.
"Hey!" Melissa shouted and laughed. She giggled and jumped around.
"Hi...?" I said eyeing them funny. "Why are you guys here?"
"Duh! I'm dating one of Matt's best friends! I was invited!" She giggled again. "Ha! PART!Y!" She jumped around and Natalie placed her hands on Melissa's shoulders.
"And I'm this chick's designated driver. I'm not leaving her alone with a bunch of drunk guys."
"You are a saint Nat." I smiled. "How drunk is she?"
"She's a cheap one I'll tell you that. Three beers and she was drunk as a skunk."
"Skunks can't get drunk!" Melissa shouted all slurred so really it sounded like 'sssskunkscannotgetdrruuunk'
"No but you sure did." I said and Natalie laughed.
"I think it would be smart if you let her stay at your place." I pointed out.
