Two Years After Graduation

"WHOOOOOOOO!"

Tanner yelled as he jumped into the lake, and successfully getting me even more soaked than I already was. I was treading in the water, popping below if I got bored.

The one thing I hate about lakes is that I can't see what's underneath the water. So when someone's arms wrapped round my stomach I screamed.

"Riley, you okay?" Wilson ran towards the water but didn't jump off the rock we were swimming at.

"Something is grabbing me!" I screamed again.

Natalie laughed and swam over to me. "It's probably just your boyfriend." she said. "Personally I like this choice of boyfriend better than your last."

Tanner popped up behind me, I screamed, but he covered my mouth. "I do too." He whispered in my ear. His warm breath fanned the side of my face.

Wilson laughed and I gave him a stern look. He dropped his smile. "Sorry."

I squinted then closed my eyes, and stuck out my tongue.

"EW!" Tanner shouted. "Did you just lick my hand?"

"Mhm." I smiled triumphantly.

"Well now I need to teach you a lesson." He smiled evilly.

"Oh do you know?" I smirked. "And how will you teach it?"

"It involves you, me, and our bedroom-"

"Okay! I think we need to keep this PG do we not?" Wilson shouted.

"Sorry, man." Tanner said as he put me on top of the swimming rock and looked at me from the water. "She may be your sister, but she is my fiance."

I leaned down and kissed him.

"Ew!" Melissa shouted from the father end of the lake. "Don't kiss, he might have cooties!"

I rolled my eyes. "Well, you kiss Andy don't you?"

"Yeah, but he's hot! Tanner's...."

"Amazing." I finished for her and kissed him again. He pulled me back in and held me close to him.

We heard Melissa scream and we all looked over to see that her boyfriend Andy flipped her over his shoulder.

"Put me down!" She shouted.

"Not until you say you don't just kiss me because I'm gorgeous." He said.

"But I don't just kiss you because your gorgeous. I kiss you because your funny and smart and fun. I kiss you because... I love you."

Everyon's jaw dropped and shot towards Melissa and Andy.

"What?" He scrambled to look at her and held onto her in the icy water.

"I love you?" Melissa said nervously.

"I love you too." He picked her up and hugged her and kissed her.

All of us let you a big "Aww!"

They didn't stop.

"Okay, that's enough PDA." Natalie hollered.

The broke off and just stared at each other.

"I like this choice of boyfriend better as well." Natalie whispered to me.

I laughed. "I do too."

Though, Melissa never passes a day where she finds something that reminds her of Mason. They were adorable together, but she actually loves Andy. Mason never left Matt's side and currently Matt is trying to figure out how to be a dad for Danni's child. I can't say I didn't expect it, because I did. But I try not to think about them, I like to think about the proposal night.

It was beautiful, just like this camping site we come to every year.

The sun was setting and I looked at Tanner. "Do you think we should go back to the cottage?"

"Of course, I still need to teach you a lesson after all." He winked and picked me up and I wrapped my legs around his waist.

We drove back on one of our speed boats and he carried me into the room he and I shared. He placed me on the bed and kissed me deeply. I smiled into the kiss, and snaked my arms around his neck, pulling him closer to me.

I finally felt this feeling. A feeling that I can without worry of anyone or anything getting in my way. After all the tragedy and insanity I've been through, I actually woke up from my coma with this feeling, and I feel it again now. This feeling of...

THE END. This is officialy the end of The Better Life. I am sorry to see it go, but I can't wait to start writing again! You guys are freaking amazing if you read this whole thing, inculding this author's note, because you'll get the inside scoop on my latest stories! I will be writing a One Direction fanfction called "Just One Rose" and I will start uploading it when I reach at least ten chapters. After I'll be writing "The Status Quo".
