I couldn't believe Julian had managed to pull off such a surprise. Everybody was talking, sipping champagne and having a good time.

"Scarlett!" Someone yelled.

I didn't need to see who it was to know it was Pierce calling. He came and embrace me in a big, warm bear hug, sweeping me off my feet. I squealed.

"Pierce!" I beamed. "I missed you so much." He put me down on the ground and examined me.

"Gosh, Scarlett don't scare me like that ever again, you hear me?" He said, pointing his index finger at me, the same way he did when I was a child. I pout. "You have no idea what's it like not to have my sister in my presence. You're lucky you have such a mate that cares about you the way Julian does." He cupped my cheeks and looked into my eyes as he said those words. He place a kiss on my forehead.

"It sounds to me you and the Alpha King came to an amicable agreement once and for all." I said to him.

"Hell yeah!" He exclaimed. "I mean, you're the only thing we have in common. It was best to put our pride and ego aside, and decided that we had to find you." He informed me. "Do you know he was putting the over time and the double time in looking for you?"

"No, I didn't know that." I told him in all honesty. But then again, Julian and I never talked about it. He never told me and I didn't bother to ask.

"Scarlett I was drinking whiskey and was a wreck. Julian, reassured me that we were going to find you by any means. I thought I was going to lose my sister forever when we went to Park Edge and couldn't get a scent. I-I-I..." He trailed off.

"You what?" I gently probed.

"Scared." His eyes glistening. I hugged him again because the feeling was mutual. "Thank god we found you because the parents would have a field day with my head!"

I burst out in a fit of giggles. Pierce was so dynamic. One minute he'll be serious and the next he's cracking jokes. God bless his mate in the near future. I hope she can handle his dynamic personality.

"Scarlett Diana Cassandra Ross!" A voice bellowed. Pierce and I froze in each others arms.

"Dad," We said in unison.

I wanted the ground to open up and swallowed me right there on the spot. I didn't expect my father to be here so soon. I felt a large frame towering over me.

"Is it too late to run?" I asked Pierce in a low voice.

"Oh yeah," Pierce replied. Looking pass me, to the person behind me. I let go of Pierce and turn around to face my father.

"Dad..." He held up his hand to silence me.

"Save it." Instead of a thorough scolding, he pulled me in his arms, hugging me tightly. I was partially stunned. I wrapped my hands around his shoulders and embraced him tightly.

"I almost loss you Scarlett. I had to come immediately when Julian told us of the news."

Huh?

I pulled back and stared at him incredulously. "Julian."

My father looked perplexed for a minute before he could answer. "Yes. He told your mother and I everything, not missing out a single detail. At first, I was livid. I wanted to have him executed for almost getting you killed."

"So what changed your mind?" I asked.

"The fact that he is deeply, and irrevocably in love with you. And I see it in your eyes that you love him too. I wouldn't want to destroy my only daughter's happiness for my own selfish reasons." He explained.

I tried to stop the tear that was about to come, but I failed. The one streak came down. My father wiped it away. "I'm so sorry dad. I didn't mean to cut you and mom's trip short. I didn't want you to worry about me... I know you and mom wanted to take this vacation so badly. I hope I didn't ruin it." I was rambling. My father just chuckled staring down at me.

"Scarlett Ross you are my daughter. I would do anything for you. No matter what the cost is. Please remember that."

"You have no idea how reassuring that sounds coming from you dad. Thank you for being so understanding. I appreciate it." I said and kissed him on his chiseled cheek.

"You're welcome sweetheart." He said as he kissed my forehead.

"Where's mom?" Looking around the grand ballroom.

"She's probably talking to your mate." My dad said. A blush made a way to my cheeks.

I turned around saw my mom talking to my mate. They stood near to one of the glasse doors that was open. He was smiling, showcasing those perfect white teeth. My mate. I thought to myself. The simple word had such a big effect on both of us. He was mine and I was his. We were both possessive of each other.

Who would have thought that we would have made it this far. I know everything seems rushed but I believed it was long over due.

I thought if it wasn't for Elana and Jaxton's crazy scheme in almost trying to kill me, that Julian and I wouldn't have been this close. Being apart made us realize that we couldn't be without each other. How crazy is that, right?

But what if, just what if Elana and Jaxton's crazy little scheme didn't happen. What would have been the outcome of our relationship now?

Would we have even been in a relationship? Would he even tell me that he wanted me in his life or to even developed romantic feelings towards me?

Would we have hated each other? What would have happened to us now?

My brows were creasing and I suddenly felt dizzy. I rubbed my fingers lightly on my temple to soothe the pain I was feeling.

I guess somethings are just better left unanswered.

"That's exactly how somethings are better left at." A familiar voice said in my ear. I nearly jumped out of my skin when I felt the hot hair tickling my flesh.

"How did you know I was thinking that?" I asked in a confusing tone.

"You forgot that I claimed you the other night, agape mou." He said in his native tongue. "Which means I can read your mind and know everything without having to ask you directly."

I need a new pair of panties. I mentally noted.

My body shivered at his rhapsody voice. The endearment in that foreign tongue had me on the brink.

"You never spoke in your own tongue before, it's always english. I said, totally forgetting what he was saying about being claimed by him. My breaths coming in steady.

"Why does it seem to surprise you?"

"Because I just never heard you speak that way before." I stated to him, while becoming flustered.

"Does my mate like it when I speak in my own language?" He asked, while smirking in the process.

"I didn't say that." I looked away from him so he couldn't see the truth in my eyes.

He placed his hand on my chin and turning back my face around to face his. I could see his hooded gaze with lust and passion burning deep in them.

Small tingles began making there way around my thighs. I can't believe the sexual attraction between us, it was too much and too strong.

"I can smell you too agape mou." Closing his eyes taking in my scent.

"Because I'm wearing perfume Julian." I shot back

"Not that scent love, the other one forming between those luscious thighs of yours." He whispered again in my ear. "It's a delicious smell."

Oh Lord, God have mercy.
