Chapter Fifteen

~~~Scarlett's Pov

"Julian a word please." I said through gritted teeth. I walked off in the direction of his study. I couldn't believe he said that to Nina. I hadn't told her about Julian as yet. She is going to be so piss at me for not saying anything. I stand in the middle of the room with my hands folded across my chest, my foot was tapping on the hard wood and I was breathing heavily through my nostrils. I was going to kill Julian, Alpha or not. He had no right to discuss my business like that.

I saw him enter through the door and I was livid even more. His eyes connected with mine and I could feel that he had sense that I was immensely pissed.

"Scarlett whatever you're thinking you should just hear me---" I silence him with my right hand.

"Enough Julian. You already said your piece, now you need to shut up and listen to me." I glared at him. "How dare you tell Nina that I was your mate like that? You had no right. We hadn't even discuss this yet. I'm going home, like I've always done. I know you don't want this so stop pretending you do damn it. I don't want this either. So you can continue to be a man slut and take a whore and call her your Luna instead. Goodbye Julian." I didn't want to see his face. I walk towards the door and place my hand on the door knob.

"Don't do this," He said firmly. "We can fix this. Your just scared, just don't leave."

"It's not about being scared," I turn around now, my hand still on the cool golden door knob as I stare him dead in the face "I don't fear commitment Julian. I fear wasting my time." I turn the door knob and left without looking back.

I walked down the halls and back to the living room, where Chazz and Nina were engaging in a light conversation. They looked so nice togther. Just sitting there laughing and discussing random things. If only Julian wasn't such a dick and both of us didn't want dominance so much. I mean, he's a powerful Alpha and I don't like to be told what to do. But I do believe in respect and that it is earned. Let's look at it like this, if you give me 100, I'll give you 100. If you give 50, I'll give you zero. I have no time for bullshit whatsoever not even from a powerful Alpha.

He might be a great Alpha to his people, but he's not good at sharing. I mustered every strength and went in on them. It felt a bit awkward, but I didn't care.

"We can go home Nina. Goodbye Chazz." I said to him.

"Goodbye Scarlett. I wish things would have been different between us." He said calmly.

"So did I." And I went outside with Nina behind me.

Chazz had took the liberty and drove my car here instead of leaving it in the parking lot at the club. I fish out my keys out my purse to unlock the doors of my Audi. Nina came in and put on her seat belt, I place the key in the ignition and brought the engine to life. We rode in silence for the first five minutes. I had to admit it was pretty nerve wrecking.

She broke the silence.

"Why didn't you tell me?" She asked.

"I wasn't ready to reveal that yet," I told her calmly. My eyes still focus on the road. "As you can see he's not that interested in this whole mate bonding thing. I mean guys have a way of making something feel like nothing. I wasn't going to put myself through that shit."

She sat there seem to be processing the information I was giving her. I know it wasn't a valid reason but it was enough. Or was it?

"Bullshit Scarlett. You should've told me regardless. I mean I was in your room that night and we talked about mates and what you should feel when you meet your mate. I shared my experience about my so called mate regardless of how horrible it felt to be shut down like that. But I told you cause you were my friend, my best friend at that. Yeah, so he's an asshole, so? He's your mate. A partner for eternity and beyond. So both of you should fucking work at it and be happy fucking happy." By the time she was finish, tears were streaming down her face. I pulled the car over to the side of road, and clasp her to my chest.

I've been such a dick not to realize that Nina was in a horrible position when the Alpha of her new pack had found his true mate, leaving her torn and broken. It was now evident that she clearly didn't get over it like she wanted to.

"I'm so sorry Nina, I had no idea you felt this way. And you're right, I should have said something to you no matter what the circumstances were. But I didn't and I feel so terrible about it now. I'm so sorry Nina." I said still holding her in my embrace as she cried her eyes out. Maybe she was right, it was definitely wrong so I need to fix it before things take a turn for the worst.

I let her go and she wipe her teary-eyed face with her palms and look straight in my eyes, "Glad you realized you were wrong. Now you and Julian need to work it out by any means necessary. Cause it can't be that bad. There's always hope. Just try and see how far it goes. You might enjoy the ride." A crooked smile appear against her lips. She definitely had a point. The question is: is he willing to take the ride with me?

***Julian's Pov

I still couldn't believe she walked out on me. Damn I definitely messed up, probably made things even worst. I mean she didn't want anything to do with me from the beginning so why should I care now. We haven't even spend so much time together. But now the answer was clear and I now know what I needed to do.

I stood in my study as I took my phone out of my pocket. I quickly dialed Alpha Caine's phone number. The phone starting ringing. I was pacing the room back and forth waiting for him to pick up the call, he answer on the third ring. "Hello Julian, have you thought about my offer?" His silky voice coming from the other end of the line of the phone.

"I accept your offer Alpha Caine. I apologize for the late reply. I just wanted to make some necessary preparations before I gave you my final answer. The answer is yes. I will help Pierce find his inner Alpha."

"That's great Julian. I'm really appreciative that your doing this, it means alot. It will be good for him. This calls for a celebration you should stop by for dinner later on. What you say?" He asked.

"That's a tempting offer Alpha Caine, but I have to decline. I have some pack business to handle. Um, when are you leaving for your vacation?"

"Okay a next time perhaps. Pack work first. Well since you answered to my special request in time, I'm leaving this Friday afternoon. Stop by for breakfast so I can tell everyone that you're overseeing the pack, sounds good?" He asked over the phone.

"Definitely, I'll be there. Time?" A smirk forming at my lips.

"8 o'clock sharp. See you soon."

"Likewise Alpha Caine." And the line went dead.

A knock emitted from the door to my study, "Come in." I said to the person behind the other side of the door. The door slowly open fully revealing my uncle standing in the door way with a smirk on his face.

"Jules." He said coolly. He was a wearing a tailored grey suit with a navy blue shirt inside and a grey tie around his neck. His hair was perfectly styled back and to top it off he was wearing a pair of black Italian boots to carry off that sophisticated look. "You called nephew." He drawled.

"Yes, I want you to help out Chazz run my pack for a couple of weeks. I'll be assisting an Alpha friend of mind to help his son run the pack. He doesn't think his son can carry out the job of being a true Alpha, so he wants me to guide him. Can you do that?" I asked him.

He walked into the study closing the door behind him and took a seat in one of the chairs. Placing one hand on his chin and rubbing it slowly as if he's contemplating about my proposition. "Okay, I'll do it nephew. Afterall, you did get your Alpha traits from me." He deadpanned.

"Right..." I slowly said. Eyeing him strangely. "Make yourself comfortable. You know your way around the house. Thanks for doing this by the way." I told him. He got up and and left. I sat around my desk going over what Scarlett said in my mind. Do I really want this? It's not about you, it's about making the pack better. I heave a sigh and close my eyes. No emotions involve, strictly business I told myself.
