Storm groaned, clutching his wound. There was no time to worry about anyone; we had to find his sister, Neva. That was all he really wanted, after all. I pulled myself together, wiping tears from my eyes, and got up. The entirety of the guild was shooting at Fay, trying to keep up with her dark fairy magic, and Celia, who was struggling.
Bullets were still shooting at the speed of light from the gun mages, and I felt weak. I didn't have time to summon Virgo to bring my food, we were in the middle of a battle. I just had pull through. And I most likely could.
"Star Dragon..." I inhaled, my chest aching but I continued. "Roar!" And a huge wave of stars and light came from me, knocking down and disabling most of the guild. But Saru, the guild's master, stood standing proudly by the door he had been hiding from us. I could see a thick, titanium chain around his neck. Something was attached.
Fay, acting exhausted, walked over to him. "If you're not hiding everything, then you'll let us in to that room. We just took down your entire guild!"
"I did." I grinned, and returning to the current situation. "She has a point. If you're not hiding anything, then you wouldn't be so hesitant to let us through this door." I felt a sudden burst of energy hit me, and I felt more confident and stronger than ever. "We don't want to fight you if it's not necessary."
Saru cracked his hairy knuckles, tucking the chain back into the depths of his shirt. "That might be the only way to solve my problem; getting rid of you."
And with that, the three of us, -- Celia, Fay, and myself -- attacked. I no longer felt weak, but strong. I wasn't able to use much power anymore, though. One of the flaws of being a dragon slayer is that I only had a small amount of magic I could use without being fed my element in between uses.
Fay spoke her Latin enchantments again, bringing upon dark waves of horror on Saru. His face was black for a moment, and suddenly a huge, magic gun summoned in mid-air. It was huge, the black equipment attached to it sticking off the sides. And a magical orb of energy formed around it.
Fay and I ducked as a bullet shot. Celia flew above the magical ammo, and when it finally passed, I attempted to fight. "Star Dragon, roa--" And that's when I realized it wasn't going to work. I was out of power.
At the peak of my nervousness, I jumped forward and punched Saru. With a quiet crunch, my fist collided with his jaw. To my surprise, he held his chin gingerly. There was a scarlet red mark where I had punched him.
Celia mewed happily. "Go Nashi!"
Fay was just standing there, and I shouted, "Help me, you idiot!" And she ran up beside me and kicked the monkey man. He was actually very sensitive beneath his burly looks. Celia used her claws and scratched his face. I punched his eye, breaking Saru's ladder shades. Fay kicked him in the groin, snickering.
And Saru passed out. I must admit I was disappointed about Saru's lack of defending; this wasn't a very interesting ending. But I remembered the reason we were here, and grabbed Saru's neck.
"What the hell are you doing!?" Fay asked, disgusted.
"Hold on," I said, yanking the chain from his neck. It was gross, yes, but attached to the chain was a fairly large titanium key. I studied it, looking at the huge door, and jammed the key into the keyhole.
With a click, it opened. The door creaked as it revealed what lie behind. A young girl, scrawny and pale, with her electric blue hair falling over her face as she slept soundly. She was malnourished, you could tell by the way her ribs stuck out slightly from her clothing. But I knew her.
Quiet, I walked over and crouched down by the sleeping girl. "Neva," I whispered, moving her wispy hair over gently. "Wake up." And her eyes opened, a beautiful, deep blue color. I hadn't realized how much I had missed Neva Fullbuster.
Her eyes adjusted, and she realized what she had seen. "Nashi!" She shouted, running up and hugging me tightly. Neva was crying hard now. "I thought... I didn't... Oh, I never should have done this!" Her voice cracked. When she calmed down, Neva's eyes looked behind me. "Where's Storm?"
My heart dropped to my stomach, making me feel nauseous. Storm. He was a priority too, how could I forget him? I ran away from Neva, finding where Storm had been laying on the floor. He was unconscious, breathing harshly with wheezing emitting from his throat. There was a flower of blood across his white shirt now, and it was a now a sickening peach color.
"Celia," I began, voice rushing and tears threatening to spill over my eyes. "Can you carry Storm? We have to get back to Fairy Tail, now!" I nearly screamed at her. Celia nodded, and using all of her strength, picked up Storm and heaved as she lifted him off the ground. I kissed Storm's feverish forehead, praying he would survive.
Please.
