Neva clutched her stomach longingly. She wished she had eaten before she had left. The snow had started to fall, and Neva realized it was almost wintertime, though it had been seventy degrees the previous days. Fall was over, and winter was dawning.

The blue haired girl kept walking, somewhat regretting her decision to go on a mission. She knew it was bad. But Happy had made it sound so spectacular in their conversation about it...

I sat there, feeling deeply upset. My brother Storm, Nashi and Camilla were out on a mission, and Grant Conbolt was too young to want to play with me. Bored, I laid my head down on the table. A familiar meow greeted me from above.

"Aye, Neva!"

I looked up. "Oh, hey Happy."

"Why so sad?" He asked, concerned.

I shrugged. "Not exactly sad... just bored and lonely. My friends all went on a mission and I was too young to go with them, as my mother said. I think she prefers Storm over me."

Happy landed on the table in front of me. "She's your mother. She loves you, Neva."

"Doubtful," I said, sighing. "She always holds me back from things I want to do."

"Mothers just do that sometimes."

"I can't beat your logic, can I?" I somewhat giggled.

Happy simply meowed, "Nope!" And I broke into a spasm of giggles and laughs. He was right. My mother loves me. But still... It felt as if she thought I couldn't handle what Fairy Tail had to offer. I told Happy this, and he began to ponder, occasionally muttering something under his breath.

"Ah! I know," Happy exclaimed. "How about you go on a mission?"

I shook my head. "Mom said no."

Happy nodded. "Yeah, but if you go by yourself you can prove to Juvia that you're responsible! You just need to come back mostly unharmed, and there you go!"

The idea seemed brilliant for a moment. "I do know some snow magic..." Learning from both Juvia Lockser and Gray Fullbuster eventually gave me snow magic. It was quite amazing. "But Mom'll be pissed."

"Look, kid," Happy suddenly sounded adult-like, his usual mew replaced with a wise voice. "I grew up with Natsu Dragneel. He's gotten into a lot of trouble, yes, but after everyone's done being pissed off at him... they realize how he helped our guild grow stronger. I'm sure Gray could say the same. You'll only learn through experience."

He was a wise cat. Suddenly surging with energy, I got up, elated. "You're right!" I slammed my fists on the table. "I'm going on a mission!" I ran away from Happy, running to the request board upstairs.

The S-class board. It was risky. But a regular mission wouldn't prove Juvia wrong about me... I had to do one of these. I grabbed a random flyer from the cork board, and examined it. Yes. This would work. Happy's words got me in an excited mood. I ran down the stairs and out the Guild doors, not looking back.

Neva had regrets, but she had to prove to her parents and brother that she could handle it. The dark guild she had suggested to fight against was weak; she'd heard about Naked Mummy in Fairy Tail. Naked Mummy consisted of idiots and imbeciles, unable to even comprehend the words that came out of their own mouths.

Holding her head up, Neva kept walking. She had to prove she was strong.
