We reached the docks. As snow began to fall, I remembered we had completely missed the Winter Festival that had started today. But I guess that wasn't a priority too much any more. I could just go by myself when we got back from the mission, depending on how long it took.
I pulled my jacket close to me. After about 20 minutes of waiting, a boat showed up, and the three of us piled on to it. There was a man who was running the boat, and asked, "Where to?"
"Galuna Island, please." I said.
I heard from my mother and father that people used to be afraid of Galuna Island, that was known for it's demonic citizens. They used to be convinced they were humans who turned into demons, when it was quite the opposite. Now that people knew the truth, they were no longer afraid of it. I had never been there myself, but I had wanted to just to see the demon people.
Waves tugged at the sides of the boat as we sailed along. At first it was fine, but half way in I had to hold on to the sides of the boat in fear I was going to be thrown out of it with the waves' force.
"Uh... are you sure this is safe?" I finally understood how my father felt whenever he rode on any form of transportation. "I think the boat is going to--" I gagged as it shook back and forth again. "tip over!!"
The captain didn't speak to us, just kept sailing. Hard pellets of rain fell on my head, and I saw Storm and Camilla cover their heads and I covered mine.
"Almost there." The captain said.
The boat continued to sway back and forth for another couple minutes, until we finally arrive on the island and I felt nauseous after all that rocking and swaying.
A purple demon showed up in front of us, one with horns and covered in dark navy spots. "Greetings." He said, holding his staff to prop himself up. "I'm Moka, leader of the people of Galuna."
"Hello, Moka. We are from the Fairy Tail Guild. We got your request about the Fidi worms, remember?" Camilla asked the old demon man, who nodded.
"Yes, I remember... I request that you kill all of them... they reproduce and spread like wildfire and they are infesting the island!" Moka grumbled angrily. "Damned things."
"Okay," Storm said. I was too pissed off at him to look at him, and kept my eyes locked on Moka.
Moka nodded. "You can find them in the forest. They are everywhere... I wish you luck. If you manage to exterminate them all, there will be a great reward."
With that, we left and walked into a part of the island that was nothing but trees and marshes. Camilla requipped into her huntress outfit (she wasn't given any severe armour yet), and walked in the other direction to look for the Fidi worms.
Of course. I was left with Storm. That's just peachy.
He watched me in expectation. I glared. "What?"
Seconds later, a pair of lips pressed against my forehead. I felt a slight tingling feeling on my fingertips, but it ceased as I tightened them into fists. I put my hands against Storm's chest and pushed him away angrily. "What the hell!?" I was afraid there was literally steam coming out of my ears.
"I thought--" Storm began, but before I could hear the rest of his sentence I ran away to search for Fidi worms. My feet crunched on some of the leaves. Despite it being winter back in Magnolia, it seemed to be behind one season on Galuna, because temperature was autumn like.
I mumbled angrily to myself as I continued along, looking for Fidi worms. Moka said there was an infestation, but I couldn't find any. I didn't know what they looked like either; I had never heard of Fidi worms.
Something shuffled in the bushes. When I turned around, I saw a small little head pop out from the leaves. Was that a Fidi worm? It was so harmless!
I put my hands together as I got ready to shoot celestial magic at it.
Before I could make another move, my eyes went dark and I fell to the ground.
Nothing could stop them...
