It was almost winter time. Snow was falling thickly in Fiore, and I must admit it was cold. My father was certainly getting a lot of attention from the weaker mages; Natsu and Romeo were hired to keep people warm with their flames, though they didn't like it much at all.

I borrowed a sweater and scarf from my mother, tugging it close to me as I walked outside. I heard from Fay that they were holding a Winter Festival, and I was elated. I loved winter! The snow, the way the usually bold atmosphere of nature dials it down and everything and everyone is calm.

Snow hit my face like pellets as I continued walking to the park. I took the day off today after our mission, and ever since then I've been on a break where I can just relax. I admit that I enjoy not having to deal with the stress of being in a guild, even though it is fun and pays the bills.

I arrived at the park, where I sat on a bench and waited. I had come here to see the preparation for the Winter Festival. This was a new event to Magnolia, and it had only began last year. I watched as the townsfolk set up the banners and carts with attractions.

I covered my nose up with my scarf. I heard footsteps crunching through the thin layer of ice covering the snow, and when I looked up I saw the Redfox twins walking towards me, unison in their steps.

"Hey, Nashi!" Pythios nearly shouted his voice was so loud.

"Hello, Nashima." Huojin Redfox was the more solemn of the two. "What are you doing here?" He ruffled his dark blue hair and sat down beside me, his brother sitting on the other side.

I rubbed my nose. "Nothing much, just watching the Festival set up. How about you?" I asked them. Neither of them looked cold; both were wearing short-sleeved shirts. This was a bit confusing, knowing that neither of their parents were fire mages. My father was, yet I was freezing! Guess I didn't get that gene.

Huojin reached in his sweater pocket, pulling out a small blue envelope. "Here. We are---"

Pythios interrupted him, shouting, "We're having a Christmas party!"

Huojin looked irritated, but continued. "Yes, we are having a gathering at our house. Mother suggested it, being that she does love Christmas very much. We are inviting everyone to it, even the adults, so do not worry. It's not exactly us who are the ones throwing it, it's more mother than anyone else..." \

"But you should definitely come!" Pythios encouraged, patting my back. "Or at least consider, Nashi."

I smoothed back my hair that had been blown crazy by the wind. "I will."

And with that, the two Redfox twins walked away. It was strange how they were related, being that they were so different in so many ways.

I ripped open the blue envelope. Opening the card, it had words written in Pythios' messy handwriting.

I never had plans on weekends, so I decided I'd go. I had plenty of time, and hey, it might be fun. The Winter Festival didn't begin until Monday of next week, so there would be a time to go before the Festival began.

Yes, I will go.
