"Where have you girls been?" Gabe asked.

"Oh, we just grabbed some things and chilled." Tati lied.

"Well, okay." Sean seems to be convinced so I sighed in relief.

I looked at Kenneth and he looked away from me.

What was that?

Maybe he's just tired.

In Tati's van, I was seated beside Bailey by the window.

We dropped of Kenneth in their house and it's a pretty awkward atmosphere 'cause he didn't even gave anyone a glance as he thanked everyone except me.

Screw that, it bothered me so much.

Today, we're currently learning a new dance routine which is Hotline Bling.

And nothing's really new except the one that Kenneth just kept on avoiding me.

I was snapped out of my thoughts when Matt called me to dance with our squad.

We did great actually then after that, the six of us sat down on one corner.

"Kenneth, are you fine now since you know... yesterday?" Tati broke the silence.

"Yeah, of course." He tried to smile.

"You were such a hero there, Jodi. I'm so proud of you." Bailey hugged me.

"That isn't a big thing. He doesn't have respect on himself and on all of us." I simply said and lied. Right now, my parents knew what happened and they said he's kind of a close-minded ass who doesn't want to grow up. I think, they are on Kenneth's side. But to be honest, I wanna say 'He is a douchebag and he's the one who's so full of himself.

In reality, I also don't know how I got friends with him.

Maybe because he's just nice to me because he said he likes me. But nah, he's not my type. He's a user.

"It isn't a big thing? You should've break his face!" Sean exclaimed.

"Yeah. He deserves a great kick in his balls!" Gabe said.

"Yeah he deserves that to serve him just right." Tati added.

"As if like he has balls?" Bailey laughed.

Kenneth just silently laughed as I stood up to grab my bottle of water to drink.

I was just about to sit back again to where I was sitting a couple of minutes ago when Matt asked me to dance with Taylor and Kaycee for a video that he'll upload on YouTube.

I just nodded and looked at Kenneth.

He looked at me straight for a second then he left my eyes looking into his.

I was interrupted when Taylor told me that we'll be starting.

What's happening. Ugh.

"Thank you so much for doing that for Kenneth against Lucas yesterday, Joanna." Mrs. San Jose told me.

"Oh, that's fine." I half-smiled.

I just dropped Kenneth to his house when his parents invited me for dinner. I objected 'cause I sense tension between me and Kenneth but they insisted. Well, here goes awkward dinner.

"How are you doing, Jodi?" Mr. San Jose asked.

"Oh, I'm great. I've been making drum covers for a while and kinda busy with dancing." I said as a matter-of-factly.

"Kenneth, why don't you go hang-out with Jodi for a day? So that you can both relax from dancing." Mrs. San Jose suggested.

"Uhm, but.... I got a planned hang-out with my school friends mom." He reasoned out.

"Oh, okay." His mom frowned.

"Mom's just making a way for you guys to be with each other." Mathew chuckled.

"I am not." She replied.

"Oh please, mom. You ship them." Mathew laughed.

"Okay, I admit. They're cute for each other. And I know they'll be a perfect couple." Kenneth's mom spoke again. I can't help but smile and I quickly tried to give them a blank face. I can't show them that I like it when his mom's teasing us.

"Mom, we don't like each other. We're so out of each other's league." He stated. Ouch.

Okay, that hurt.

I just didn't mind that even if that's so big deal for me. I distracted myself from thinking about it by continuing my food.

I decided to eat an orange and then went to their kitchen to peel one, as I asked them permission.

"Ow." I muttered 'cause I accidentally hit my finger with the sharp peeler blade.

Idiot, Jodi. Idiot.

"What happened?" Mathew asked me as his parents and Kenneth came into the kitchen.

Did I just said "ow" that loud?

"It's nothing. Just a cut on my finger." I said.

"Kenneth, get the first-aid kit." Mr. San Jose commanded him.

"Calm down, dad. That's just a small wound. She's big enough, she'll survive that." I didn't see that coming.

Karma? Bitch.
