Kian fetched the drunk and sprained Jodi.

But damn, a while ago, it's her first time to alcohol and the way she talked with me? She has a very high alcohol tolerance for a first timer.

The squad kept on bugging me about what happened 'cause they saw Jodi get into Kian's car and Valentina packed all of her things.

Speaking of Valentina, okay, time to talk to her.

"Val?" I called her as I entered the cabin she was in.

"Ken?" She looked nervous.

"Did you tell Joanna anything?" I asked her.

"Oh-oh... I didn't. Why?" She tried to pull a laugh.

"Really?" I asked because it doesn't seem so convincing.

"Yeah. Why?" She asked.

"Nothing. I trust you." I just shrugged off and my phone rang. "Hold on, I'll take this call."  Val nodded at me.

"Hello?" I asked the other line.

"Kenneth? Can you please come over the hospital?" Kian asked me.

"Is everything alright? Why are you in the hospital?" I asked furiously. Val also got alrmed and she furrowed her eyebrows.

"I just need someone to watch over Jodi for a while 'cause she felt so much pain and the doctor said she needs to be admitted. Now, I'm gonna go get some stuff for her." He told me.

"Why me? I mean, why not others?" I asked.

"Kenneth, I know you're trying to get over my sister but I also know that you still love her. I trust you with her and our parents are out for their business trip." He explained.

"Okay." I can't help but be flattered.

"I'll text you what hospital." He ended the call and received a message what hospital they're in.

"Who's in the hospital?" Val asked.

"Jodi's admitted and I don't know why but Kian asked me to go there." I explained to her as I quickly went to our cabin to get my stuff.

"Can I go too?" I gave her a questioning look. "I mean, you know, to see if she's okay." She gave me a blank face and I just shook my head.

"Please tell everyone I need to go somewhere important." I told her.

"Okay. Be careful!" She told me as I find my way there.

"Nurse. Joanna Lawley?" I approached the nurse's desk as I arrived the hospital.

"Name?" The nurse asked me with her thick accent.

"Kenneth San Jose." I answered.

"And what is your relationship to the patient?" Damn how many questions does she have to ask? To my temper, I tried controlling to shout and just answered her with an unexpected one.

"She's my fiance, okay?" What? Did I really said that? The nurse just raised her eyebrow at me then she stood up.

"Follow me." Her heels clicked as we walked down the halls.

The nurse opened the door for me as I muttered a quick thank you.

"Kian?" I called him.

He was sitting beside a bed where Joanna is lying. His head shot up and tears in his eyes.

"Hey." He tried smiling as I settled my stuff beside. "C'mon outside." I followed him outside and closed the door behind him.

I looked at the glass on the door and glanced at Joanna. She looks so weak.

"You know, the doctor said that she needs to go under Septal Myectomy. It's 50-50 though. If they get successful on lessening the thick walls of her cardiac muscles, she'll live abd have a normal life. But if not, I don't know." Kian cried.

I don't know what to respond. The words he's telling me, I can't take it. But no, I'm not crying. I can't cry. I need to be strong for Kian.... and Jodi.

"Jodi didn't almost make it when our mom gave birth to her." Kian weak-smiled. "That's why she's named Joanna Diane, because she's graced by God with a chance to live and my dad said she's very beautiful just like our mom." He told me.

I looked at the girl lying on that bed.

She looks so helpless.

I wanna tell her I love her, but that's not too simple. Trust me, I love her to bits and death. But hey, I'm a guy, I'm a person, I have feelings and I get hurt too.

"I'm just gonna go get some stuff for her." He told me as he wiped his tears and patted my shoulder.

I got inside and sat on the cahir where Kian was sitting earlier.

I held Jodi's hand and kissed it.

"Please be well. Everyone needs you." I whispered.

I was shocked when I felt a very light squeeze on my hand.

I looked at Jodi and she lfuttered her eyes open.

"Kenneth?" She whispered, trying to reach me. "Kenneth, I-" I was just about to tell her not to reach for me when she suddenly clung to her chest toghtly and screamed in pain.

I was alarmed and I called a nruse's attention.

Soon, a group of nurses and doctors rushed in the room.

"Sir?" A doctor approached me.

"Yes?" I asked as I tried my best not to be in tears.

"Are you his brother, or?" He asked me.

"I-I'm her... her fiance." I looked at him.

"I see. I just want to tell you that we need her to undergo surgery. She can't take it anymore and her heart's getting a very low supply of blood." I swallowed 'cause I can't stand seeing her in pain anymore.

"Do it." I kept my hopes up. I want her to live. I need her.

So, one person messaged me (not gonna tell if who s/he is), that says: "How come you update every parts so fast? Don't you put efforts or think about what to update on each chapter?"

Well my answer is that I make efforts, you don't know how much thinking I do just to end up with each chapter and the story. To be honest, before I make a story or start writing, every chapter and story is already planned how the flow or roller coaster rides of its plot will go. All of its chapters are already in its proper places and if I could just tell/show you how my drafts are doing, I would. But you don't wanna let me do that 'cause that's a part of the thrill. Lol. Also, writing is my passion and past time. I find happiness when I share my imaginations especially when there are ones who likes it. So if your not liking my story, you can just stop reading or just don't make any comments 'cause I'm the one who's handling this one. Do not tell me that I do not put efforts, trust me, I am not the best but I'm doing my best.

Anyway, thank you for everyone who's reading and waiting on every updates I make. It really really really reallyyyyyyyyyyy means a lot! Thank you so much. x
