That night she'd called Teedo and told him to meet up with her the next morning for breakfast at her place. The next morning she woke up early and went to cook breakfast for her guest who should be coming soon. After she made breakfast she went and took a shower and got dressed, she struggled a little. It was getting harder for her to do things on her own, she was getting bigger and bigger by the day. Her due date was only a few weeks away. She dressed in a brown Gucci sundress that complimented her skin, she pulled her hair up into a tight bun, added gold studs and a small 14 karat gold necklace with her initials on it. Amari had bought it for her one of the many times he'd took her shopping. She then finally made her way downstairs to set the plates in her backyard area. She set three plates, she knew Teedo was supposed to bringing another guest, she figured his right hand man, other than Q, Range. Range had worked for Teedo his whole life. He was also like a son to Teedo. Teedo took in a lot of guys at one point and time and they were all loyal, that's why he'd been so successful. Ava only wished her father had a good sense of who's loyal and who weren't like Teedo had. She'd had the blood on her hands of a lot of guys who'd betrayed her father. "If there's a question of my heart, baby.. You got it," the Usher ft Wale song started playing. She was grinning. It was her ringtone for Amari. She answered with a smile. "Hello?" She asked sweetly. "Good morning beautiful," he said. His sexy deep voice even turned her on. "Good morning Daddy," she purred. "Wassup beautiful what you doing?" He asked. She looked down and remembered what she was doing. "I'm supposed to be meeting with-," she then remembered his brother from last night was the reason she was and her attitude surfaced. "So we not telling each other shit now?" She asked. "What you talking about baby?" He asked. "I met your twin last night, he is the same one who had Q shot," she complained. He didn't say anything for a second, it felt like minutes for her. "Amari," she hissed. "What?" He asked softly. "You got anything to say for him?" She asked. "Nah baby, we found out recently," he admitted. "That was the same one you were on the phone with- yall motherfuckers ain't just meet, you could have told me," she said hurt in her voice. He sucked his teeth. "Yes we did just meet baby. Yeah, I spoke to him over the phone but he works for Gator, my old boss. I never knew how the nigga even looked, Gator knew though and he made us meet up like two weeks ago and when we seen each other we were just shock, I'm still shocked, it was a real moment for both of us, like I would have never thought I had a brother out here, another me actually," he admitted. "Well he's not you, he's rude as fuck," she promised still setting the table. "Baby, you gotta get to know him. He been through a lot just like me," he admitted. "You can't judge a book by its cover," he added. "I don't but his mouth was so filthy, he was supposed to eliminate me I guess but he realized I was yours and told me he would have kidnapped and made my fat ass his," she said. He was quiet. "He said that?" He asked. "Yes, and I smack the shit outta his dumb ass," she said. "You do some wild shit, I'm pretty sure his men was with him. That nigga roll with crazy niggas," he said. "But I'll check him," he promised sternly. "Mari do you also realize they had something to do with Q?" She hissed. He was quiet again. "You don't think about doing shit do you?" He asked. "What you mean? Retaliating?" She asked. "Yeah," he said. "I can't, he's your brother," she said. "Aight cool," he said. "But I am meeting with Teedo today," she finished. He was quiet again. "Amari?" She asked after awhile. "If you have that meeting with Teedo, we're done," he said. She felt her heart speed up and the doorbell ring all at the same time. "Are you serious Amari?" She scoffed. "You know Teedo Lino will stop at nothing when he knows somebody is after him. If something happens to my brother, his blood is on your hands and I won't want anything to do with you," he said. "Really?" She asked, hurt. "Yes really, that's my blood," he said. "So it's just fuck me?" She asked as the doorbell rang again. "I'm not letting somebody that's like a father figure to me get killed because of your grimy ass brother," she warned. "I can talk to him, but you know Teedo, he's not gonna let the shit go no matter what," he said. "I love the shit outta you but I'm serious Ava," he warned. "Fine- you're such a asshole," she said holding in tears. Teedo was like her second father, he deserved to know. "I'm not," he said. "He means to me just as much as what your brother means to you," she complained. "Just don't tell him Ava, I can talk to my brother and this can all be settled yet if you do, we're done," he promised. She sniffles. "Well he's here," she said. "Do what you want," he said. She sighed holding in tears. "Bye," she told him. He hung up on her. She went to open the door. She made sure her eyes were dry first then opened the door. She opened the door to see Teedo...and Carter. She rolled her eyes. "What the fuck is he doing here?" She asked. "Still disrespectful I see," Carter said. "Not today," Teedo warned entering her home. Carter looked around, then stepped in after him. "What you scared?" She smirked. He looked at her and smacked his teeth. "What your fat ass gonna do to me?" He asked. She eyed him angrily. This was the second time somebody had called her fat in the past 24 hours. "You know what? I don't have time for your bullshit today," she said. "It smells good in here," Teedo admitted. "I made breakfast," she said leading them to her backyard dining area, it was decorated beautiful. The eating area separate from the beautiful garden and the garden separated from the pool and jacuzzi area. "This is a nice set up you got here princess," Teedo promised. "Thanks papa," she said with an appreciative smile. They all sat and she and Teedo were soon talking about life. Carter said little. "So what did you have to talk to me about love?" He asked. "What do you mean?" She asked acting clueless yet really her heart was beating out of her chest. She didn't know what to do. Protect her relationship or protect somebody that was like a father to her. "What did you call me here for? It sounded urgent," Teedo said staring at her. When she looked down fiddling with her fingers, Carter started watching her as well. "Come on baby girl, you can tell me anything, you know that," Teedo said placing his hand on her shoulder. She looked into his warm brown father like eyes and melted. He was a father to her when she couldn't talk to her own. She loved him too much. "Los is Amari's twin brother," she told him. Teedo and Carter eyed each other then her. "He wants blood from his best friend being killed, he wanted me, but found out I'm pregnant with his nephew now he wants you," she said to him, fighting back tears. She wouldn't dare cry again in front of Carter. She couldn't get Amari's voice out her head. "Amari said he'd talk to him, but I can tell what type of person Los is...he isn't going to stop till he's satisfied," she said. Teedo nodded quietly. "You know this is a war right princess?" He asked her calmly. She looked away into the garden and nodded. "Mari told me if I told you we were done," she said still staring out at the view. "I don't want you in the middle of this sweetie, I swear I don't," he said. "I know pa, I know," she muttered. She didn't want to think about it anymore. "I'm getting some more OJ. Who wants some more juice?" She asked nicely, forcing a smile while looking at the two men. "I'm fine," the two said. She went inside the kitchen and looked behind her to see if either one had followed her inside. When she realized they didn't she went to find the nearest restroom, she closed the door behind her and began boohooing. She loved Teedo so much, and she knew she did the right thing by telling him but she knew she'd fell for Amari too and it hurt to know they were no more. She cried and cried for a full fifteen minutes until she was able to put herself together. She fixed her makeup and got herself together. Just as she was about to exit, her phone rang. Amari. She took a breath and answered. "Did you tell him?" Was his immediate question. She bit her lip to keep from crying, she whispered "Yes," he was quiet for a while. "Bye Ava," he said and hung up. Ava started crying again. It was really over.
