Before we began, I hope you're strong enough to put our differences aside, our dislike for each other even the act you tricked me into doing the other day," Ava said to Los as they met for lunch that next weekend. Los smirked and shrugged nonchalantly. "I'm cool," he promised. She rolled her eyes, she couldn't stand that cocky smirk. "What do you want?" He finally blurted. She pulled out a Manila envelope and passed it to him. "Everything I could get on Carter. I want him gone just as much as you do, take this as a present. Call me when it's handled, I don't want to hear shit else but it's done," she warned before standing. "I'm the boss," he warned her. "Okay," she said with his shrug. She threw two Benjamin's down on the table. "Enjoy the rest of your day," she said before leaving him. She had no time for his ego, she needed Carter to pay for what he did, and surely Los would make him. Now, all she was focused on was getting to Baltimore.  ----

That night, she packed for Baltimore. Amari would watch Harlem that weekend. She really missed Q, she needed to vent to him. "You almost done?" Amari asked with a groggy voice from her bed. "Almost," she said tiredly. She yawned for the third time. They'd been sexing each other like rabbits since she'd gotten home in the afternoon. Amari had completely worn her out but she used the tiny bit of strength she had left to finish the packing she'd started that morning. "Come on Ma, just come to bed," he said. She ignored him and kept packing. "Ava," he said again. "Yes Amari," she said lowly. "Come back to bed," he said. "I'm still going to go see him Mari," she blurted finally. "What?" He asked confused. "I know you're trying to distract me or do whatever you can so I won't get ready to go see Q, but I still am," she admitted eying him as she sat on the edge of the bed. He was quiet for a moment. "You not my bitch, why should I care?" He spat rudely. She rolled her eyes and stood back up to finish in silence. She knew it's not what he wanted to hear but he needed to. He stared at her for a moment before climbing out of bed in his boxers. "I don't got time for this shit," he muttered making his way past her. She reached and grabbed his arm. "You needed to understand baby," she said. "Whatever ma, do you I could give ten fucks. Shit was fun. I got what I wanted. I'm going home," he said getting dressed. "To LA?" She asked ignoring his malicious attempt to hurt her feelings. "Don't worry about me, worry about that nigga," he said ripping his arm away from her. She groaned. "I need you to tell me where Amari or else I gotta find another babysitter," she explained. He scoffed and looked at her. "You want to see this nigga that bad?" He asked. "He was my friend before anything, yes I wanna see him. I miss him Amari, shit," she hissed. "Whatever man. I'll be at my beach house while you're gone," he warned, fully clothed now. He was gone before she could respond. "Fuck him," she muttered. She didn't need no man but her son or Q. She was heading to Baltimore.
