Chapter Nine . . . Christmas Special

Ray's POV

For days I have watched Kylie sit on the couch depressed, and constantly thinking. You could tell the her mind was on a haywire ever since the fire, and I couldn't blame her I mean she lost everything she has ever worked for and with the thought of her ex-husband terrified her.

I wanted to kill him, I wasn't going to lie. I wanted to hunt him down and beat him, torture him, and then slowly kill him.

He caused her to feel this way, and a beautiful caring woman should never feel this way.

"Hey," I called as I came in the house from work only to find her on the same spot on the couch with a notebook in her hand. "What are you doing?"

"Just trying to figure things out," She sighed and put down the book, "I figured if I work for a couple of weeks on overtime, that I can afford another crib-"

"Kylie, you are not working overtime," I sighed, "I don't want you working at all."

"Ray I have to pay you rent."

"You do not!" I exclaimed. "Where did you ever come up with that idea?"

"Well I'm not living here for free." Kylie exclaimed.

"This is my Christmas gift to you." I rolled my eyes only for hers to widen.

"Christmas?" She asked.

"Yeah it's coming up in about two days . . ." I laughed.

"Oh no. I haven't shopped or decorated, not that I have anything to decorate but I-I-I. . . ." She began to panic.

"Ky, calm down." I laughed and kissed her cheek.

"What do you do for Christmas?" She asked still panicked.

"Go to my parents." I smiled.

"Okay," Kylie said with relief.

"Well you are coming with me right?" I asked confused.

"Y-you want me to g-go?" She stuttered and I nodded. "I don't know Ray."

"Come on, it'll be fun." I smiled and she played with the hem of her shirt. "Well, I'm taking you if you want to or not." I decided.

"Gee, thanks Ray." She rolled her eyes.

"You deserve a good Christmas and I'm giving you one." I smiled.

"Okay . . . thank you." She said quietly and I rolled my eyes before kissing the top of her head.

"You're welcome."

Kylie's POV

Christmas Day . . .

The ride to Ray's parents house was exciting and nerve racking. I mean Ray was bringing home a girl he liked who was big and pregnant, homeless, and all together a mess.

"You okay over there?" Ray asked as we walked down the street of the city.

"No." I answered honestly as I gripped the Christmas cookies I had made in my hand.

"It's going to be fine, I promise." He wrapped his arm around my shoulder.

"Ray . . . I still don't know about this." I sighed and ran a hand through my hair.

"There's nothing to know about, it's a simple Christmas dinner." He smiled. "And we're here."

I looked at the door we stood in front of and gulped.
