Chapter Twenty-Three . . . Quietness

Kylie's POV

It had been a week.

A week of wondering, a week of tiredness, and a week of pure fear.

A part of me was wondering if it was part of Brad's plan, to keep me on my toes and in fear.

Unfortunately for me his plan was working, but today he would not bother me.

"She's coming home!" I cheered as I drove to the hospital with Ray in the passenger seat.

He gave me a huge grin and nodded. "I know, isn't it great?"

We haven't talked about what we were going to do about Brad in awhile, I think because Ray didn't want me to think about it, but it was always on mind.

"Are you kidding me? It's beyond great!" I smiled just as we pulled into the hospital. "My little angel has been locked up. She's going to be free!"

"You make it sound like she was in jail." Ray chuckled as we got out of the car.

"I feel like I was in jail." I sighed as he wrapped his arms around my waist.

"Me too." He sighed before smiling. "But now she's coming home and we'll be free."

"Well let's go get her!" I cheered as we quickly walked into the hospital.

We were overwhelmed by the amount of paperwork that the doctor had given us in order to take Marisa home, but in the end it was worth it.

I mean we were bringing her home!

"Kylie, Ray," Our heads whipped up to see Marisa's doctor calling our names, but my eyes immediately went to her arms where baby Marisa was cooing. "well guys, it's been a long journey, but now it's time for you to take your baby home."

I threw the paper work that was in my hands at Ray before quickly running over and taking my baby gently from the doctor.

"Oh my goodness you are getting heavy." I chuckled as Marisa stared up at me.

"She's definitely not the tiny little girl she was when she was born." Ray chuckled as he wrapped his arms around me and stared down at Marisa.

"You guys think you are ready for this?" The doctor teased.

I opened my mouth to answer but Ray beat me to it.

"We're more than ready." I turned my head to him and kissed his cheek.

After filling out a little more paper work we were quick to go home and be a family, the one that I've been dreaming about being since I first found out that I was pregnant.

"I'm so happy you are coming home." I said in a baby voice to Marisa as I began putting her in her car seat. "You have to see your room, and everyone at the office can't wait to see you." I kissed the top of her head. "But first things first, we have to get your home baby girl."

I quickly shut her door and went to get into the driver's seat but Ray was leaning in front of it.

"What are you doing?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.

"I have a surprise for you guys." He grinned.

I tilted my head to the side. "Oh yeah? What is it?"

He gave me a smirk before putting his hand out. "Give me the keys, and get in the passenger side."

"Why?" I asked totally confused.

"I'm going to drive."

I let out a chuckled and shook my head. "Ray, you don't have your license."
