"Good morning, my name is Selena Ramos, I was just enrolled and was told to speak with you." I chimed to the woman sitting behind the wooden desk in the counselors office.

"Welcome to Brandeis Ms. Ramos, I'm Mrs. Ruffo." she smiled, reaching out to shake my hand. "What school are you transferring from?"

"South San high school."

"Ah, from a bobcat to a bronco. Now looking at your transcripts, you are in fact a senior, but you're taking junior and sophomore classes?" She cocked her head slightly, squinting at the paper in front of her, probably wondering if she was reading it correctly.

"Yes ma'am. This will be my 6th school in my high school career. A lot of places I went to had a different curriculum, I took your senior classes my freshmen year." I slumped, it was slightly embarrassing standing in front of this woman who probably assumed I was just dumb at first.

"Yes, happens to the best of you. You have very impressive grades Ms. Ramos. It's a pleasure to have you joining our student body. Have you purchased a parking pass?" She questioned me, handing me my class schedule at the same time.

"Yes, right before I came here."

"Good, would you like someone to show you around a bit before you get to class? It's an awfully big campus."

"Um, a tour would be nice." I stuttered. For one reason or another she was making me nervous.

"Nick!" she called into a room off to the side. "Will you show Selena around? It's her first day." she asked a rather attractive looking boy.

"Sure, follow me." he almost barked at me, walking out into the main entrance of the school.

Following this boy around was sure strange. He seemed to always be at least 3 feet in front of me at any given time, pointing out where my classes are, the three main staircases and the many other staircases that could end up saving me a tardy.

"Are you in any sports?" he asked, finally slowing down and walking next to me.

"Not here, cheer had try outs last school year, I'm too late for volleyball, and soccer hasn't started yet, but I doubt I'll play here anyway." I sighed.

"Cheer? Never would've guessed. "You have the body for soccer and volleyball though. Why won't you play here? Do you suck?" he laughed, walking over to a vending machine.

"No," I giggled, leaning against the large machine. "I just don't know how long I'll be here. But what are you checking me out for?"

"You're pretty. It's hard not to." He chuckled, flashing a cute little smile. "Third period is about to start, I'll walk you?"

"I don't want to go." I whined, but reluctantly walked after him.

"I'm Nick by the way." He said out of nowhere, placing his hand out for me to shake it.

"Selena, but just call me Sel."  I laughed, shaking his hand.

Briiinnnngggg

"Well Sel, that was the bell, I'll see you around." He smiled, giving my hand a tight squeeze before letting go and walking down a long hallway.

I waited until he turned the corner to go into my class. Third period, Mr. Hernandez, advanced photography. Yay.

"Who are you?" an odd looking man asked.

"Selena Ramos sir. Are you Mr. Hernandez?" I asked, repositioning my bag on my shoulder.

"No no no, I'm subbing his class today. Are you new? Your name isn't on the roster." He huffed, seeming out of breath.

"Mr T!" a soft voice squealed. "Can I take care of this?" Without waiting for an answer the girl took the clip board out of his hands. "What's your name?" She directed towards me.
