**Selena's POV**

"Goodmorning!" Andrea chimed, clinging to Kian's arm. "Where were you before school? The boys and I were waiting outside for you."

"Sorry," I shrugged. "My dad made me late."

"How was your Friday?" Sam chimed in smugly. The sneaky devil.

"Don't want to talk about it." I shrugged, trying to drop the subject.

"We're having a get together Saturday if you want to come. "Kian smiled, obviously sensing the tension. "It's Sam's birthday today."

"Well happy birthday Sam, but I think I'll pass on Saturday, sorry." I shrugged.

"Plans with Caylen or what?" Sam piped up again.

"Anything between Jc and I isn't your business." I spat, turning on my heels and storming out into the empty hallway.

Me: I need you right now.

I quickly hit send without thinking. Nothing mattered in the moment. What gave Sam the right to question me about anything? Especially when I know Nick told him what happened.

"Are you okay?" Kian whispered behind me.

"Fine." I shot back, crossing my arms and turning to face him.

"Look I'm sorry about Sam, he can be an ass sometimes." he grinned.

"It's fine. I'm just going to go home, not feeling to well. See you tomorrow." I smiled.

"No you're not." he chuckled. "You texted Jc, he's outside waiting for you."

"How?" I whispered, cocking my head and raising an eyebrow.

"I just do. Have  fun." Kian smiled, opening the door and pushing me out.

"Was that Kian?" Jc questioned when I climbed into his car.

"Yeah, he said he knew you were here?" I shrugged.

"Oh. Yeah I uh, never mind, where do you want to go?" He stuttered.

"Surprise me." I huffed, getting comfortable in my seat.

"Riverwalk it is." He chuckled.

The ride there was peaceful. Jc had 96.1 playing which meant all of the 'popular' songs replayed a few times but I didn't mind. Jc looked over at me at nearly every stop light or stop sign, probably trying to figure out why I had texted him in the first place. After the game Friday I wasn't expecting to talk to him for a while, but come Saturday that all changed. He was outside with Wishbone and I went skating. It was like we were just meant to be talking, and now I was grateful for that. I only texted Jc today because 1, I knew he'd help me, and 2, because I knew he had stayed home from school.

"We can eat there, or we can stop before?" He finally spoke up, not taking his eyes off the road.

"There is fine. I think it'd be nice."

Jc just nodded. The last bit of the long ride was silent, besides the soft sounds coming from the radio. Luckily it wasn't awkward, but comfortable.

"We can park at the mall and go through there." He finally spoke up.

"We'll just have to remember our way." I giggled.

"We can leave bread crumbs." He winked, pulling into the parking garage. "Grab my sweater from the back seat. It might get a little cold."

"Ahw you're watching out for me." I smiled, doing as I was told.

"Somebody has to Selena." He chuckled, finally parking. Before I knew it he was around the car and opening the door for me.
