"Where are you off to?" My dad smiled when I walked down the stairs.

"The football game." I chimed, pulling at my white crop top.

"So, white crop top, light high waisted shorts, and your pink TOMS? To a football game? Let me guess you're going with a boy." He chuckled.

"I am. But what does my outfit have to do with that?" I laughed, brushing my hair behind my ear.

"Are you taking a bag?"

"Yeah, a cross body. Which one should I?"

"The pink one. Matches your shoes." he laughed. "Never thought I'd be doing this."

"Doing what daddy?" I asked, grabbing my bag, keys, wallet, and phone.

"Raising a girl, helping her dress, having a close relationship with a daughter." He smiled, placing his hands on the sides of my arms.

"Oh stop it, you're gonna make my make up smear!" I laughed.

"You better go mija, have fun." He chuckled again before turning away.

"Adios papi!" I called as I walked out.

"Papi?" a voice chuckled behind me.

"Iy dios mio! You scared me." I giggled, swatting at Jc's arm.

 "Sorry." he grinned. "You ready?"

"I'm outside, and dressed, so I think so."

"Shut up punk. You don't have a school shirt?" He asked, pointing to my crop top.

"Nope. Kind of just transferred."

"Well good, we can sit on either side, just don't say you go to Brandeis." he laughed as we got into his car.

"That bad?"

"It gets crazy." he shrugged, rolling down the windows as he pulled out of my driveway.

"So your girlfriend's on the dance team?"

"Yeah, uh were you ever on dance team or anything?"

"Yeah." I whispered, tapping my fingers together. "Cheer, soccer and volleyball."

"Nice, are you on a team at school?"

"No. Cheer had tryouts last school year, volleyballs pretty much over, soccer hasn't had tryouts yet."

"You should play." he smiled. "I'd be at those games."

"Shut up Caylen." I laughed.

"How'd you know my last name?"

"Oh right, awkward. Uh Sam told me. Sam Pottorff."

"Oh." he sighed, tightening his grip on the wheel. "Chili's okay?"

I just nodded. The rest of the drive we sat in an awkward silence. Thankfully it wasn't long until we had been seated and our orders had been taken.

"So what about you? Sports or anything?" I asked, trying to spark a conversation.

"No, not really."

"Oh."

"So you and Sam huh?"

"What about us?"

"Ya'll a thing?"

"Us?" I laughed. "No no no, just friends."

"Oh." he grinned.
