"Selena?" I called out into the crowd, hoping to find her. Way to go Justin, you really messed this one up.
"Jc?" Nick shouted, waving me over to where he was at. "You okay? You look frantic."
"I uh, I'm fine have you seen Selena?"
"Yeah she just asked me for a ride, she went to the bathroom real quick." He said, pointing his thumb in the direction of the restrooms. "Y'all okay?"
"Fine. Just a misunderstanding. Let me take her home?" I pleaded.
"Sure buddy," Nick grinned, patting my shoulder. "Just get her home in one piece."
There was no point in replying before he walked away. That's what I liked about him, we had our differences, but there was still understanding.
"Selena!" I called when she started walking in my direction.
"Leave me alone Jc. Where's Nick?" she demanded.
"I told him to leave, so I could take you home." I sighed, awkwardly placing my hands in my pockets.
"Oh. Well bye." she smiled, fakely, before walking away.
"Where are you going?" I sighed, chasing after her.
"Home. I'll walk." she shrugged.
"Come on Sel, let me drive you home. Please." I begged, giving her my best puppy dog face.
"Why?" She pouted.
"So I know you get there safe." I shrugged, giving her a little grin.
"Fine." she huffed, crossing her arms and stomping her way to my car.
“You can’t be mad at me forever you know.” I smirked as we climbed in.
“Watch me.” She smiled.
“You’re something else, you know that?” I chuckled.
“Stop acting like everything’s okay.”
“Well why isn’t everything okay?”
“You kissed me! While you have a girlfriend!”
“I broke up with her.”
“Why?”
“I don’t know.” I shrugged.
“Bull shit!”
“Fine. I broke up with her because when I met you it was like things fell into place. I’ve been looking for a good enough reason to not be with her and I found it. It’s you.” I sighed. This car ride was dragging already.
“Wait, what?” she whispered, sliding in her seat to face me.
“Ana and I, we had a good ride, but I wasn’t happy. I didn’t know how to break up with her. Yeah she’s a great girl, but just as a friend, she’s kind of like my sister,” I managed a chuckle. “Then you came out of nowhere and the moment I laid eyes on you, I just about lost my cool. You’re gorgeous, you have the cutest laugh, and your smile, and how you get nervous, I just kind of started falling already. When I kissed you, I did it because it felt right, I might just be crazy I don’t know.” I finished, turning to give her a small smile as I parked in her driveway.
“Jc, you kissing me was a mistake. It’s really sweet of you to say all that, but I’m not the best girl to fall for right now, I’m still hung up on my ex. I’m sorry.” She whispered, pulling off my sweater and placing it in the seat before climbing out. “I’ll see you around.” She half smiled.
All I could do was watch as she walked into her house. Stubborn ass girl, you will be mine, just wait.
