It's been a week since I've cut. I'm doing better, I think, and Jackson is proud. I've also gone shopping with Ashley. Now Jack wants to try coffee for the first time, and wants me to come with. I ask Ashley if we can, and she tells me that it has to be De-Caff. I go upstairs, and put some cover-up on my arms so that it isn't so noticeable. I get some money from Ashley, grab my own purse, and we head out the door.
We get there in less than twenty minutes. Jackson is so excited he's about to have a stroke, I can't help but smile at his enthusiasm as we walk into Starbucks. We go to the counter and I order Jack a De-Caff caramel macchiato. For myself, I get a white chocolate frappuccino, and a muffin. I do like me some muffins. We sit down and Jack takes his first sip.
"My tongue! It burns!" He shouts, gathering the attention of the whole place.
"Want a sip of mine?" I offer, chuckling.
"Yes!" he demands. I hand it over, barely containing my laughter. His face is just priceless. I whip out my cell and snap a few pictures before he grumbles and hands me back my coffee.
It's been an hour, but I still want to do one more thing. I go up to the cashier.
"Hello, I'm Jamie, what can I get for you?" she asks with a friendly smile on her face.
"Do know where a seventeen-year-old can get a job in this area?" I ask.
"Well, actually, a spot just opened up here! Want me to give you the paperwork? It's just the necessities," she replies.
"Um, sure! When do you need this back?" I ask. Jackson comes up to me and starts pulling on my sleeves and kicking my shoes impatiently.
"Hm, anytime tomorrow!" she replies cheerfully. I nod, smilling, and take the papers. I grab Jackson by the ear and we walk out of the store.
"Little twat!" I shout at him. He smiles, knowing that he got to me and we walk home in silence.
