We sit in silence after my speech. Chloe stopped crying, so all we hear is the waterfall.

It hurts me to see her in so much pain. She doesn't deserve any of the bad things that have happened to her. Not her parents dying, not getting abused by James, not witnessing her brother cut, not getting kicked out of the house at seventeen years, none of it. I'm eighteen, but I chose to move out this early. Phil's only nineteen himself. But seventeen? Come on Ashley. None of it, should've happened, and it pisses me off. It's so unfair!

"What time is it?" she asks after a while. I check my phone.

  "12:45, am."

  "It's been two hours?"

"Guess so."  "Should we go back?"

  "Do you want to?"

  "Not really, not yet."

  "Want to stay until 1:OO?"

"Okay," she grabs my hand.  "You're always so warm."

"I am?" I ask. I've never really noticed my warmth. She hums, and I snuggle closer to her. She breathes out a relaxed sigh, and I do the same to mock her. She giggles, and I lean in and kiss her soft cheek. She turns her face, gently grabs mine, and places her lips to my own. My stomach erupts into butterflies, and my mind goes nuts.

Kissing Chloe is one of the best feelings I've ever had. I love how my stomach flips, and how my breath catches afterwards. You could say sparks fly, but I'd prefer the term, fireworks.

I look at her gorgeous eyes, and something inside clicks.

  "Chloe, I love you."
