"Hi, um, can I get a non smoking room for two nights?" I ask the lady at the front desk. I give her my credit card, and she pushes her buttons. I get the key and my card, and grab my boxes. I locate the stairs, and trudge up three floors to my room.
Once settled in, I get my phone and the piece of paper with Dan's number on it.
Hey, it's Chloe I type. I don't even have to wait a minute for my response.
- "Hey! You good?" I receive.
-Umm, just got kicked out... I reply.
- "WHAT? Why?!"
-Ashley.
- "Where are you?"
-I'll be at Starbucks in 3O minutes, meet me there?
- "Of course! See you there :)"
I don't respond, instead I take a quick shower. I dry my hair enough, grab my purse and coat, and head out.
Dan is sipping on his drink. He spots me, and walks over, giving me a welcoming hug.
"Hey there!" he says.
"Hey, I guess you get your date!" I smirk.
"Yay!" he jokes. I chuckle as we get to the counter.
"Hey Jenna! Sorry, I've been sick. Can I get a white chocolate frappuccino?" Mm, my favorite!
"Yep! And sorry about being sick, you feeling better?" she asks.
"A little bit, yeah. I'm not sure when I'll be back though, I just, I'm going through some major stuff. I understand if I get fired." I give her as sincere of a smile as I can muster.
"Oh I'm so sorry! Well, I can talk to the manager and see what we can do, okay? I'll tell him that you need some time okay?" she smiles and I look at a very confused Dan.
"I work here," I explain. "Jenna, this is Dan, Dan, this is Jenna,"
"Hi!" she gives him a lovely smile, and shakes his hand.
We spend most of the "date" talking about what happened and what I can do. I don't like being such a burden but I just don't know what to do. He is so supportive though just like he was in the hospital and I appreciate it so much. I want to get closer to him but I just, I don't want to get hurt again. I don't know, I mean, he hasn't left me yet. He's telling me funny stories to lighten the mood and telling me about the times he's failed at life. It's cute.
When you fancy someone, everything is cute.
