I yawn and Dan looks at me.

  "Tired?"

"No, yawning is just oxygen for the brain!" I say defensively.

"Yeah, alright. Come on smarty, let's get you to bed." He smiles, and turns off the Xbox.  "You can stay in my room, okay?" I nod and he helps me up. He leads me down the hallway, where I bump into someone.

  "Oof!"

"Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry Chloe!" I hear a male voice say. I look up to see piercing blue eyes, like my own, and a black fringe. He's somewhat attractive, but all the sudden, I get a gut feeling to get away. Now.

"Phil! Be more careful! Chloe, this is my flat mate, Phil."

"I said sorry!" Phil defends. "But, it's nice to finally meet you. Goodnight," he says with a smile before turning and walking down the hallway.

We walk into Dan's bedroom and sit down on his bed.

"You didn't tell me you live with someone! Especially a male!" I whisper. Dan looks down.

"I know, I'm sorry. I should've told you. Do you still want to stay over?"

"Yeah, but I don't have a good feeling about him," I say, looking at the door.

"Phil? Oh my gosh he wouldn't harm a fly!" he laughs. "You've got nothing to worry about with him," he says reassuringly. But I'm not reassured. He still terrifies me. I'm not really sure what it is, but something in my gut told me to get away from him as quick as possible.

"Mhm," I hum, still staring at the door.

"Hey," Dan says sharply, making me look at him. "You'll be okay. I promise," he says in a more gently and reassuring voice. I smile.

He tucks me in, and kisses me on the cheek.

  "Goodnight, love."

"Goodnight." He leaves the room, and shuts the door. I sit up on my elbows, and finally get a good look around. It's so cool in here! He's got lights hanging from things, and cool little figurines and statues. Then it hits me, the smell. I sniff the air a little, and it doesn't get any stronger. I sniff the covers, and, Oh God. They smell so good! I guess I never noticed how Dan smelled, but boy I wish I would've!

I lie back down, and close my eyes. I bring the duvet up to my face, and smile when I breath in the scent.

I fall asleep slowly, to the air that is now my paradise.
