Chapter 4
*beep beep beep* an annoying beeping sound keeps going off. There is so much pain in my leg and then I remembered what happened. Someone is hold my hand though. I open my eyes.
"Skyler." It was James' voice. I turned me head and he was sitting next to my bed. I was in a hospital.
"Welcome back baby." James said as he stroked my face.
"What time is it?" I asked. My voice was all cracky and scratchy.
"Here drink this." James handed me a cup. I let go of his hand and took a sip.
"It's almost midnight. You've been out for almost four hours."
"Does my mom know I'm here?" I asked.
"Yes she out in the waiting room signing some papers. You had to have surgery."
"What did you say when they asked what happened?" I asked getting worried.
"That you were at my house and you fell down the stairs..." James said.
I let out my breath I was holding.
"Thank you." I said.
I took another sip of water then set it down on the table next to me.
"How are you feeling?" James asked me. He looked so tired.
"Ok, my leg hurts."
"Yeah it was pretty bad."
"Wait... Am I still gonna be able to walk and stuff?" I asked.
"Yes but not for a while your gonna have to go to lots of physical therapy but don't worry I'll be there if you want."
"Yes would you come."
"Of course sweetheart." James said. M
He leaned over and kissed me. Then the door opened. James pulled away.
"Whoops sorry guys." It was my mom.
"How are you feeling?" My mom asked.
"My leg hurts." I said.
"You need to watch where you are going. Your so clumsy sometimes." My mom said smiling a little. She was standing on the other side of my bed then James was.
"Yeah I am." I said and put a fake smile on my face.
"So you didn't tell me you had a boyfriend." My moms and looking over at James.
"Well he is sorta new. We kinda just started dating... I was gonna tell you tonight." I said.
Just then a nurse came in. She did her little routine on me then left.
"Well you should get some sleep." My mom said.
"I can stay here tonight if you want do you can go get some sleep too." James said to my mom.
"Would that be okay Skyler?" My mom asked me.
"Yeah that's fine."
My mom said goodbye then left.
