Chapter 20
"Yay! Food time!" Matt said getting the door.
Eric followed Matt on the bus. Travis drove us to where Eric said. We all got out and went inside. I used my crutches this time.
A couple people recognized Hunter and Eric. They signed a couple autographs and the people left us alone.
Diner went by really fast. Before I knew it we were getting back on the bus to take Eric back to his bus. Hunter got off the bus with Eric. I could hear them talking.
"Thank you so much. You really made her happy today." Hunter said.
"I'm glad I could come. Sucks the other guy got sick but at least I got to meet my biggest fan." They both laughed.
They said goodbye and then Hunter came back on the bus.
"Let's go bed." Hunter said.
He picked me up and we went back to his room. Hunter helped me change and then he changed. We laid down.
"Do you like Sam?" Hunter asked.
He started playing with my hair.
"Yes... As a friend of course, but yes. He's really nice." I said.
"At diner I talked to him while you were talking to Eric. Sam, he really likes you. He wishes I had taken you with me when I first left. He hates that someone did all that to you." Hunter said.
"Yeah." I said.
"Baby, I love you and I know it's probably hard sometimes but if you need to I'm always here if you want to talk." Hunter said.
"I just... I don't know why I'm alive right now. So many times I passed out from losing so much blood. I... I'm so scared... Hunter... What if they find us..." I said.
"I know... I'm scared too, but I will keep you safe. I won't let them hurt you again." Hunter said.
"You know, some nights... I wanted to die... I was in so much pain and I couldn't take it anymore... I just let myself bleed some nights hoping I would bleed enough to die.... It was so scary wanting to do that... and my mom was so stupid... She never saw it. I never fell when I was little... I never had that many cuts and bruises... She just did nothing about it... How could a mom do that to her own child, be so blind she doesn't know what's going on....and James... That asshole... He just used me for sex... Even after he found out what I had been through... And watching Frank rape me and do nothing about it... How could someone do that... That night I heard you on the radio I was about to just end it... I knew were the knives were down stairs... I was going to kill myself......... but then I heard you on the radio and I called you... I guess you could say, you saved me..." I said.
Hunter wrapped his arms around me tighter. I knew it hurt him to hear that.
"I love you so much Skyler. I'm so sorry." Hunter said.
"I love you too Hunter." I said.
Hunter gave me a kiss that lasted longer than it should have.
