Chapter 9
I cried for another five minutes. I stopped.
"I'm sorry." I said.
"For what? You didn't do anything." Hunter said wiping away my tears.
"I keep crying." I said.
"I don't care. I'll listen till your tears give out." Hunter said.
It was quiet for a while. We were both looking into each others eyes.
"I missed you." Hunter said.
"I missed you too." I said.
"I should have kept in touch with you. I'm sorry all this happened to you. You don't deserve to be treated like that. Your beautiful and smart and you deserve to be treated like a princess. I've been a mess without you. I need you." Hunter said.
I was speechless.
"Hunter.... Don't leave me. Please. I need you too." I said.
"I'm here. I'm never leaving you again." Hunter said.
"Hunter?"
"What?"
"Kiss me." I said.
Hunter grabbed my face and leaned down. His soft, warm lips touched mine. He was so gentle.
"I love you Skyler. I always have and always will." Hunter said then kissed me again.
"Hey Hunter. What time is it?" I asked.
"It's six thirty." Hunter said.
"I'm hungry." I said.
"I know! Let me take you out to diner. Then if you want, we can come back here get your stuff and you can come out on the road with me." Hunter said.
"Are you serious?!" I asked.
"Yes." Hunter said.
"Yes!"
"You said yes."
"Yes!" I said. Hunter hugged me.
"You'll be safe with me. I promise." Hunter whispered in my ear. Hunter let me go.
"Let's go eat." Hunter said.
"Ok but first can I take a shower I feel disgusting?" I said.
"Of course." Hunter said.
"I need a plastic bag for my leg. Can you get one from my mom please." I asked.
"Sure." Hunter said then went downstairs. I heard him come back up.
"Here you go." He said.
"Can you help me put it on in a second?"
"Sure." Hunter said.
"Im gonna go put my robe on, will you come in when i call you?" I asked.
"Of course." Hunter said.
I went into the bathroom and took off all my clothes. I looked in the mirror.... My boobs were bruised too. I got my robe and put it on. I sat down on the toilet seat.
"Ok Hunter." I said.
He opened the door and shut it behind him. He came and kneeled down in front of me.
"How do I do this?" He asked.
"I have no idea." I said.
"Ok let's see here." Hunter said.
"Lift your leg up some." He said.
I lifted my leg up. He slid the bag over my cast and tied it up.
"Boom! I...." It came untied when Hunter said that.
We both started laughing. He retied it.
"Are you gonna be ok?" Hunter asked.
"Yeah. If i need you I'll call you."
"Ok." Hunter left.
I stood up and turned the shower on. I got in. The hot water felt good on my skin.
I washed my hair and my body. I turned the water off. I took a step to get out but tripped and fell.
