Chapter 24

2 DAYS LATER

I was allowed to leave the hospital finally. I sorta took over Hunter's room in the back of the bus. Hunter and I were back there talking.

"When are you going back on tour?" I asked.

"In a couple of days." Hunter said.

"Oh." I said.

"We can start later..." Hunter started.

"Hunter, no, it's fine..."

"I don't want to just leave you if..."

"Hunter the doctor said I could start walking on my leg with the boot he gave me." I said.

"Ok." Hunter said.

He wouldn't look at me.

"Hunter I'm ok..."

"Skyler...I'm sorry." Hunter said interrupting me.

"Hunter there is nothing to be sorry about... I already told you I'm fine. It's not your fault any of that happened. I'm not mad at you. I love you Hunter." I said.

He still didn't look at me. I grabbed his face in my hands. He looked into my eyes.

"Hunter Easton Hayes, I love you so much and nothing will ever change that. You know if it weren't for you, I'd probably be dead right now. You saved me in more ways than one. I will always be thankful for that. I love you more than I can tell you or evens how you. So stop beating yourself up. Please." I said, my voice cracking on the last word.

Hunter moved his head closer to mine.

"I promise I will stop. I love you Skyler." Hunter said then kissed me.

"Hunter! We need you!" Sam yelled interrupting our moment.

We both sighed.

"I'll be right back." Hunter breathed against my lips.

He got up and left. He shut the door. I grabbed the acoustic guitar Hunter left sitting by the bed. I strummed a couple of notes.

I started playing a song I wrote. I started singing too. I finished and I heard people start clapping. I spun my head around. I started blushing. No one had ever heard me sing or even play guitar.

"Do it again!" Sam said.

"No way." I said.

"Please." Hunter said.

"Fine." I said and did it again.

They clapped again.

"Where did you learn to play like that?" Hunter asked me.

"I taught myself and I always watched you." I said.

"Your voice is incredibly amazing." Sam said.

"No it's not." I said.

"Oh my gosh! Yes it is!" Matt yelled.

"It is amazing." Hunter said.

"She should sing a song with you!" Devo said.

"No!" I yelled.

"Yes!" Matt yelled.

"You have to!" Steve said.

"There is no way I'm singing in front of all those people." I said.

"Then just pretend you're singing to me." Hunter said.

They eventually talked me into it.
