Chapter 26
"Skyler. Come on. Wake up. We have to go." Sam said waking me up.
He helped me up.
"Where's Hunter?" I asked.
"I don't know." Sam said.
He helped me to the bus. Sam took me to Hunter's room. He got some pajamas out of my bag. He helped me put them on. Sam laid me down.
"Goodnight Skyler." Sam said then left and shut the door behind him.
I fell back to sleep. Something woke me up a few hours later.
"Go back to sleep beautiful." Hunter said then kissed my forehead.
I woke up to the sun in my eyes. I rolled over to snuggle Hunter but he wasn't there. I opened my eyes and sat up. Hunter was at his desk.
"Hunter?" He looked over at me. It looked like he had been crying.
"Hunter what's wrong." I asked.
"Skyler..." Hunter started.
"Hunter's about to be on CMT. Turn it on." Matt yelled back to us.
Hunter turned it on.
"And we're back. Now as we heard last night Hunter got himself a girlfriend."
The announcer said then played when Hunter introduced me on stage.
"Or is she?" The announcer said.
What.
"That's right. Look at these pictures we found last night." They started playing a slide show of Hunter and Rachel.
She was all over him and they were kissing. My heart dropped. The tears started forming in my eyes. I looked over at Hunter. He was already crying.
"Skyler, I'm..."
"Don't. Hunter how..." I started but stopped.
I started crying. I grabbed my bag.
"Skyler..." Hunter came over and grabbed my arm.
"Don't touch me!" I yelled. I walked out of the room and Hunter followed me. All the guys were looking at me.
"Skyler I..."
"Hunter just stop. You don't need to explain." I said going to the door.
"Where are you going?" Hunter asked. The pain in his voice killed me.
"Somewhere away from you." I said and slammed the door shut.
I started walking. I didn't know where I would go but I just walked. It started raining.
"Perfect." I said out loud.
I walked of at least another hour. I found a cheap hotel and went inside. The guy working there looked up. He got up and went somewhere.
He came out with a towel. He came over to me and wrapped it around me.
"Here sit down." He said and lead me to a couch.
"Wait aren't you Skyler. The one Hunter Hayes was dating?" The guy asked.
"Yeah." I said.
"I'm so sorry. I heard what happened..."
"Skyler." Someone said interrupting him.
I looked up. It was Sam.
"Sam." I said. He came over and sat on the other side of me.
The guy got up. Sam nodded at him. I started crying. Sam wrapped his arms around me and let me cry for the longest time.
