Chapter 13
"They hit you?" Sam asked.
"Yeah..... For about two years now." I said.
"That's right when Hunter..." Sam said.
"Yeah... The only person who didn't hit me was my mom... Everyone else did." I said.
"How many people?" Matt asked.
"3... My parents got divorced 2 years ago and they both got remarried. My dad and step mom Julie, started it first... When my step dad Frank saw he started to when my mom wasn't around. I always told people that I fell... No one at my school cared... They all make fun of me... Hunter was my only friend..." I said.
"Wow..." Sam said.
"Why was Hunter your only friend? Just from knowing you for a couple hours you would seem like you would have a thousand friends." Steve said.
"I don't know... Guess I'm too ugly for them... I don't know...." I said that second they all said something like,
"You're not ugly!"
"Your anything but ugly!" Or
"you're beautiful!"
I started blushing. I've never had that many people say that about me and mean it.
"Thanks you guys." I said.
"It's 3 in the morning, I think we should go to sleep." Hunter said.
"Goodnight Skyler. I'm glad Hunter found you or you found him." Devo said.
"Goodnight." Steve said.
"Good night Sky.... That's my nickname for you by the way." Matt said.
They went to their bunks.
"Sam, you going to bed?" Hunter asked.
"Yeah I will in a little while." Sam said.
"Ok." Hunter said.
"I don't think you plus two crutches are gonna fit through here." Devo said from his bed.
"I'll carry you." Hunter said to me.
He picked me up.
"Don't forget your money." Sam said.
"Oh yeah." I said.
Sam picked up the bags and was about to put them on my tummy but stopped. I realized my shirt was pulled up a little. Sam looked at my in the eye. He looked worried.
"Are you ok?" Sam asked me not looking away.
"Yeah... I-it's nothing." I said.
Sam looked up at Hunter then back down to me.
"I..." I started. I was gonna use the 'I fell down' excuse but then remembered he knows.
"I.... Frank.... He.... He....raped me.... earlier today..." I said.
I heard a couple gasps from the bunks. Sam opened his mouth like he was gonna say something but nothing came out.
"I-I'm so sorry Skyler..." Sam said.
It was quiet for couple minutes.
"W-what happened to your leg?" Sam asked.
"My dad.... ran over it.... on purpose." I said.
"Oh my god..." Sam said.
I told Sam about James and stuff. The guys all came back out one by one. I also told them stuff that Hunter didn't even know yet like how I did everything for them and other such things. It was almost five in the morning now.
"Ok let's go to sleep now... you look really tired." Hunter said to me.
He picked me up and carried me to his room. Everyone else went to bed too. He laid me down on his bed. He changed out of his clothes right there and put pajamas on. Hunter came over to the bed and laid down next to me.
"I love you Skyler." Hunter said.
"I love you too." Hunter kissed me.
"Good night." Hunter said.
"Goodnight."
