The Theory~~~~

"So have you got any idea of how we deal with this thing?"

Matt shrugged.

"I dunno," he said. "The most common things I found regarding dealing with ghosts and stuff like that was the whole, 'salt and iron' thing, but I dunno if that's actually true or not."

"Heaps of movies and T.V. shows use that bullshit," Jimmy said, looking at Matt who returned the look. "But I dunno if that shit actually works or not."

"We could always give it a try?" Johnny said, his tone unsure.

Matt shrugged and looked to Brian who was sitting next to me like usual.

"You guys have any more trouble with him last night?" he asked seriously, looking between us.

We both shook our heads and I rubbed my eyes tiredly.

"Man, neither of us slept much last night," Brian said tiredly as I nodded slowly in agreement. "We didn't wanna get caught while we were sleepin' and I think we freaked too much to sleep any way."

Jimmy looked between us both.

"Well at least we know it's tied to you," he said, pointing to Brian.

"But," Matt said, making us look to him. "Zacky was there too last night. For all we know, it could've jumped ship."

"Oh c'mon, no," I said, feeling really tired and not at all ready to take on a ghost when I got home. "I don't want that freak anywhere near me."

Matt's notebook suddenly flew off the table and hit the floor, sliding to a halt at one of the other tables. We all just sat there and looked at it as someone picked it up and headed over to hand it back.

"He certainly doesn't like being called names," Jimmy pointed out.

Matt nodded his thanks as he took his notebook back from the person who'd picked it up. We waited until they'd disappeared back to their table before anyone spoke again.

"At least he hasn't tried taking us out since yesterday," Brian said.

"Man, don't give 'im any ideas," I said miserably. "I'd rather not get killed tonight, or any time soon for that matter."

Matt looked at me. "Don't worry 'bout it man. We'll test out our theory whenever we can."

Someone pushed me from behind again as we walked down the stairs. I lost my balance and Jimmy and Brian both quickly grabbed me to stop me from falling down the stairs and hurting myself. I turned around and looked back, but there was no-one behind me.

"Stop pushing me down the fucking stairs!" I yelled to thin air, a few people looking at me strangely as they went up the stairs past us.

"C'mon man, calm down," Jimmy said as we finally reached the end of the stairs and headed down through the corridor. "You sound like you're crazy, yellin' at thin air like that."

I just grunted in response and kept walking to class with them. That was the third time today I'd been pushed from behind, and I was sick of it. I could've easily been very hurt if Brian or Jimmy weren't there to catch me.

We all took our seats in the science lab, right up the back as always. Brian looked at me as I sat there and didn't bother getting my things out just yet. I was too annoyed at being targeted by The Hunter to care about useless equations for formulas and whatnot; not that I was ever in the mood anyway.
