~~~~CHAPTER 11~~~~
Interests in the Supernatural~~~~
"So?" Jimmy said as he sat down next to me the next day, making me glance at him. "How's it goin'?"
"I don't like her in that way," I said with annoyance, seeing the smile on his face as he knew I'd already picked up on what he was implying.
"Well how'd you know I wasn't asking about our friendly resident ghost?" he asked as I looked back down at my work, really wondering how and why we were friends. "He screwed you over any more?"
I looked away from my work, seeing him watching me with his head rested on his hand and a slight bit of his trademark smile on his face; he seemed to be like that a lot recently.
"You don't seem to be too worried about this; you're more interested," I stated, making Jimmy shrug.
"So what? These things don't happen all that often Baker; make the most of these opportunities," he said as he got his book out, searching for a pen as he continued. "These things fascinate me Zacky; ghosts don't appear that often."
"Seriously Jimmy?" I said with slight disbelief. "Ghosts aren't meant to exist let alone...haunt me. I hate them and they freak me out."
"Hadn't noticed," Jimmy muttered. He looked to me with a bit of a smile. "I think they're cool."
"You're a fuckin' psychopath like the Hunter," I said with a shake of my head as I looked back to my work.
"Alright you two, shut it or get out of my class," the teacher snapped, making me groan as Jimmy shot him a glare. "You two never stop speaking; I've already warned you about this before, so either be quiet or get out."
Jimmy looked to me.
"I think I'll take the second option," he said, putting his book away and grabbing his bag.
Everyone watched as he walked out and I sighed. The teacher shot me a look, making me sigh again, as I knew he wanted me out as well; if Jimmy left, I apparently had to as well. I just put my things away and grabbed my bag and crutches and made my way out.
Jimmy looked up from his phone as I appeared, a smile on his face.
"Awesome; free period," he said, heading off down the corridor, making me follow along behind, as I had nothing better to do with my time right now. "Let's go."
"Where're we going?" I asked as he stayed a few paces in front of me.
"Outside; wanna show you somethin'."
I just sighed yet again and followed along behind, not sure what he wanted to show me or why. Once we were outside, we came to a halt by the side of the main school building and Jimmy indicated for me to sit down as he did; his back against the wall.
He waited as I managed to sit down with him, placing my things by my side as he continued playing around on his phone. I watched as he grabbed something from his jacket, holding it out to me.
I sighed for the fourth time in ten minutes and grabbed the cigarette packet from him, getting my lighter from my pocket and lighting a cigarette for myself.
Handing back the packet and putting my lighter away, I looked over Jimmy's shoulder as he lit a cigarette for himself.
"Whatcha lookin' at?" I asked as he put the packet back in his jacket pocket; he always used the inside pocket to hide his cigarettes from prying eyes.
"Jessie's online profile," he said, making me glare at him as he avoided my gaze and took a drag on the cigarette. "You checked it out? She's an interesting girl, and she might be able to help us out."
