~~~~CHAPTER 24~~~~
Back Home~~~~
~~~~Matt's Point of View~~~~

"Alright guys, let's head on out; there's nothing in here," I said, already heading back to the ladder that led out.

"Uh," Jimmy groaned, clearly protesting against leaving. "But we haven't found anything yet Matt."

"That's the point," I said, as Johnny went past me, Nero not far behind. "We'll head back to my place and figure out what to do from there; none of us have found anything of use, so let's just go and figure this shit out somewhere else."

Jimmy just rolled his eyes as I turned my back to him and headed up the ladder. I heard Jimmy dragging his feet as he followed along behind reluctantly. I waited at the top of the ladder as Jimmy lazily grabbed the ladder and began climbing up to where I was.

"I know you're annoyed with me for calling it, but we've found nothing," I said as Jimmy slowly made his ascent up to where I was, going slow on purpose. "Unless you see something within the next thirty seconds, we're going back to my place to talk this through."

"I see an abandoned barn that might hold some vital piece of information," Jimmy said, no emotion in his tone as he reached the top of the ladder and hauled himself up onto the landing with me. "Does that count?"

I looked at him, my expression unamused; Jimmy literally just returned the look.

"Let's just go," I said, turning away from him and heading out to the ladder that let us out of the barn; I just wanted to get home.

This entire thing had been a waste of time; none of us had found anything and it looked like we were stuck with the ghost for now. I climbed down the ladder, the rain pouring down outside now as I reached the ground, looking up and seeing no sign of Jimmy.

"For fuck's sake," I muttered to myself. I raised my voice, already soaked the entire way through. "Jimmy, get the fuck down here and let's go!"

Jimmy appeared, rolling his eyes as he climbed down the ladder. I shook my head as he reached the ground, having missed a few rungs of the ladder and just jumping down to the solid ground.

"What?" Jimmy asked as I shook my head again. He headed past me, coming to a halt. "We going?"

~~~~Zacky's Point of View~~~~
"Here they come," I said, indicating to Matt and Jimmy who'd finally appeared from the other side of the barn, jogging over to where we were on the other side of the gate.
Brian and I were basically completely soaked right through, Jessie and the others already in the car so they didn't get soaked as well.
"Took your damn time!" Brian shouted over the rain as Matt and Jimmy slowed their pace as they reached the gate. "What took you so long? Johnny and Nero have been back a few minutes."
Matt glanced at Jimmy as he came over the gate, Matt just waiting until Jimmy was on the same side as us.
"It's nothin'; we're here now."
Brian just shook his head as Matt climbed over the gate and I frowned, my gaze having been drawn over to the barn. Brian saw my expression, frowning as well before following my gaze and seeing what had caught my attention.
He raised his eyebrows and that got Matt's attention; Jimmy had already given up on standing outside and was now in the car, so it was just the three of us out here now.
