~~~~CHAPTER 31~~~~
Weirded Out~~~~
"I think I'm officially weirded out," I said as Brian and I sat there in English; Jimmy was certainly a strange guy. "I'm still trying to get my head around the fact that he grabbed the fucking hand before we left; he's had it with him this entire time."
Brian shook his head, staring ahead of himself and not even bothering with what was on the board this morning.
"I don't even know how I feel right now," he said as I took my glasses off and just placed them on the table, not able to concentrate anyway. "I think I'm appalled and confused, but I get why he did it. I don't even know if I can even feel at all right now; I think I've just numbed to it."
He looked to me and shrugged, looking creeped out still; he had the same look on his face as the rest of us. Some might even say it looked like we'd seen a ghost. Brian switched his gaze to my glasses on the table and I knew what he was about to do.
He grabbed them and put them on, looking to the board and trying to read what was on it.
"How do you even read with these on?" he asked, squinting at the board and clearly unable to read what was on it; it looked like he was trying to take his mind off the morning's conversation. "I can't see a damn thing clearly."
"Yeah well I don't wear them as much as I should," I said, taking them off his face and lazily cleaning the lenses on my shirt before putting them back on. "I'm meant to wear them for reading and writing but I'm usually pretty good in the way of it. My eyes screw up every so often, so that's when I've gotta bust 'em out and wear them for more than reading; when it happens I usually need them for basic seeing."
"Yeah, didn't think I saw you wear 'em that often," Brian noted. "So you having trouble with your sight today or something? I noticed you were wearing them this morning too."
"Yeah," I sighed, leaning my head on my hand and looking to him. "I was at Jessie's yesterday to help find something on where The Hunter was buried and I just couldn't read what was on the laptop screen; small type seems to screw with my sight if I look at it too long, which in turn means I've gotta wear my glasses to read it and see otherwise. It'll be fine by the end of the week as long as I keep the glasses on most times; it usually fixes itself for a good while until I decide to read small type again."
Brian smiled in amusement, making me smile back.
"So what's going on with you and Jessie anyway?" he asked; I knew this question would get asked sooner or later. "I noticed you guys were being kinda close when she rocked up."
"We're going to see a movie after school," I said, Brian unable to stop smiling in amusement. "Yeah, smile all you want; you're just jealous you don't have anyone to go see movies with."
"I've got five people thanks very much," Brian said, me smiling this time. "I have you, Matt, Johnny, Jimmy and Val; five."
"You know what I mean," I laughed, Brian smiling again. "I dunno man; I think I just kinda came to the conclusion last night that I actually like her and I owe her a day out anyway."
"I hope you're paying for her," Brian said, making me nod. "Good; good."
I smiled. "It's only fair; I asked her, so I should pay."
Brian nodded.
"Yeah man," he said. He shifted his position, wincing a slight bit as he remembered he couldn't put any pressure on his left hand due to it being broken. "So anyway Zacky, what's going on with your house and whatnot?"
