~~~~CHAPTER 9~~~~
Jessie~~~~
"Back already boys?" the doctor said as he got Matt and I to sit down so he could look over Matt. "It's only been about two hours since you were last here."
Both Matt and I just shrugged and I saw how much this had affected Matt. He looked very tired, and I assumed it was the blood loss. His arm still hadn't stopped bleeding, and that was what was worrying both of us.
"What'd we do this time?" the doctor asked.
"Ah, just an incident with broken glass," I said, Matt just nodding slowly in agreement. "I think we confirmed that he's still got a few pieces of glass in his back."
The doctor nodded and wrote something down.
"You boys always getting in this much trouble?" he asked as he moved from his position and over to Matt. "This's twice in one night you've been in here due to an accident. Maybe you should be more careful."
I just shrugged and watched as the doctor looked Matt over before he started stitching up his arm. Matt kept flinching in pain and it seemed to take a long time. After the doctor had done that, he got the pieces of glass out of Matt's back and then looked between us.
"Just take it easy for a while ok boys?" he said, making us both nod as we headed out. "I don't want to see you two in here for a while, ok?"
"Man, you two look like shit this morning," Jimmy said as Matt and I came to a halt with the four of them.
Val looked to Matt with concern. "What happened to you?"
Matt shook his head tiredly as Val looked him over, seeing the stitching on his arm. Brian looked to me.
"We've really gotta fix this," he said with a shake of his head as he looked me up and down. "You could've gotten killed last night Zacky."
"I know," I said with a yawn, as I was really tired. "But I luckily didn't."
Neither Matt nor I had gotten much sleep last night, as we'd spent the majority of it in the emergency room or just sitting there in case something happened.
"I think it might be an idea to make sure someone's with you all day," Jimmy said, clearly having been thinking through this. "He seems to have a fascination with pushing you down stairs, and seeing the way you are at the moment, we really can't risk you by yourself. He's probably pissed 'cause he didn't getcha last night."
A crash of thunder made me jump, catching everyone off guard as well. Jimmy looked up to the sky. Dark clouds were coming over, and it looked like it was going to rain very soon.
"Fucking weather," he mumbled to himself before he looked back to everyone and shrugged.
Brian looked to me. "I'll try stay with ya all day man. Don't wantcha gettin' any more hurt than y'are now."
I nodded and sighed, rubbing my eyes tiredly. Johnny looked to Matt.
"So are you ok?" he asked, making Matt look at him tiredly. "What happened with you?"
"Y'know the sliding door I've got that separates the living room from everywhere else?" he said, using hand gestures to explain what he was saying. He winced in pain as he moved his arm. "Yeah, that just completely exploded and I was standing in front of it."
Johnny winced as Matt explained it.
"That sucks."
"Was it The Hunter as well?" Jimmy asked, sounding more fascinated than freaked out.
