~~~~CHAPTER 34~~~~
Finishing It~~~~~
"Alright Brian, do another quick scan of the property; we've nearly got it dug up."
Brian got to his feet, brushing himself down and looking rather unpleased and slightly disgusted by all the dirt. Jimmy just smiled in amusement as Brian turned his torch back on; I shook my head at Jimmy and just indicated for him to continue on with digging the last few pieces up.
"They're gone," Brian said, clearly looking at the remains of the barn.
"They're probably around somewhere," Jimmy said, moving a bit more dirt from the grave now.
"Y'don't say?" The sarcasm just dripped from Brian's words.
Jimmy stayed silent, Brian back to scanning the property as Johnny held the torch over the grave we were digging out still; there wasn't much left and it was only a matter of time now before we got this finished.
Without warning, Brian knocked into me, tripping over and landing right next to me. I looked to him, the torch on the ground now. He just stared straight ahead of himself, the torch light clearly on something.
I followed his shocked gaze, seeing The Hunter standing a few metres back, the light from the torch going through him. By the looks of it, someone'd come to crash the party.
"Just keep digging," I told Jimmy, seeing that he'd seen the ghost already; he wasn't fazed though. "We're nearly there; don't let him stop you."
"Who?" Jimmy queried, though he wasn't being serious. "Oh, you mean that figment of our imagination; that ghost that's not even real? The unimportant one?"
"Jimmy, I swear to God; you push it any further and I'm fucking walking home right now," Brian growled, still on the ground next to me, his gaze still on The Hunter. "This isn't the time to be antagonising him."
Jimmy stopped, looking to him. "Seriously though Brian; what's he done to me? He wouldn't dare."
Brian blinked a few times, grabbing the torch quickly and scanning the area that was just in front of him; The Hunter was gone.
"He mightn't've done anything to you, but he's terrorised at least three of us," he said, quickly moving the torch back and forth to try and find him again. "So shut it and keep digging before he comes back."
Jimmy rolled his eyes and went back to digging. The next thing, Johnny's torch was suddenly thrown out of his hand, landing a few metres away, Brian's torch not far behind.
"Just ignore him and keep digging; Johnny, get down here and help," I ordered, knowing that this was about to end up rather bad if we didn't hurry up. "Brian, you too."
Both did as told, moving over to the grave and quickly helping Jimmy and I dig as best they could. A few seconds in, Brian got knocked back again, Johnny ending up the same. I shook my head, not about to let him beat us. I looked to Jimmy who was still happily moving dirt, a bit quicker now though.
"Did you bring the other hand?" I asked, making him glance at me. "We can't do this without it."
Jimmy paused, looking to me.
"Uh, I thought you had it..."
"You're joking!" I exclaimed as Johnny came back to helping, Brian just deciding to stay where he was; he looked a bit dazed and it made me wonder if he'd hit his head when The Hunter had knocked him backwards. I looked to Brian. "Do me a favour and get back to the car; see if Jimmy left the bag with the hand in it."
