~~~~CHAPTER 17~~~~
What To Do~~~~
~~~~Zacky's Point of View~~~~

We all sat around the table in Matt's kitchen, our focus on the task at hand.

"Matt was almost hit by a fucking car because of this asshole," Brian said with irritation, clearly angry about what'd happened less than ten minutes ago. "We have to figure this out before it's too late."

"Well I can't really do anything to help right now," I pointed out, though I did wanna put an end to this; it was getting out of hand.

Matt looked to me.

"I don't expect you to do anything right now Zacky," he said, his tone showing the frustration. "I just don't particularly wanna get run down by a car, ok?"

I just gave a nod and fell silent. Jessie shot me a sympathetic look from where she was sitting opposite me, but I just avoided her gaze.

"Well we can't just sit around and do nothing," Jimmy spoke up, making us all look to him. "We know its jumped ship to either Matt or Brian; we just dunno which one it's with."

"How do we find out?" Brian asked, looking at him, his arms crossed as he leant back in his chair next to me.

Jimmy gave a shrug; he apparently didn't have an answer to that one. Matt looked to Jessie.

"Feel free to input something sometime," he said, gesturing to her.

She gave a nod, seeing that he wanted her to say something about what was going on.

"Alright, well first off, sorry about you almost getting hit by a car," she began as Matt's phone started buzzing; we all saw it on the table in front of him. "The best thing we can do is try to find the object it's attached to; might be a start."

"Sorry, gotta take this," Matt said, standing up as he answered the phone. "Hey babe."

He headed out of the room and we all watched, hearing as he spoke to who we all assumed was Val on the other end of the line; he must've gone out the front door.

"Who's he talking to?" Jessie asked, everyone's focus back on each other now.

"His girlfriend," Brian said, getting her to switch her gaze to him. "Why?"

She gave a shrug and we all fell silent for a few minutes. After what felt like forever, Matt finally made it back to the kitchen and took his seat, placing his phone down on the table in front of him.

"Sorry about that guys; she just needed to let me know she's going away with family for a bit, so that works out well," he said, almost sounding relieved. "That way it can't jump ship to her and I won't have to worry I guess."

We all nodded and Brian looked to Jessie.

"So how're we meant to find out what this guy's attached to?" he asked curiously. "Is there an easier way to do this? It could be anything and it could take us a while to find out; we could all get seriously hurt by the time we find it."

"Could also keep jumping ship," Johnny input; he hadn't contributed to this conversation much.

"They're both good points," Matt said, making everyone look to him. He looked to Jessie. "There's gotta be an easier way to do this, right? Any other theories behind getting rid of ghosts?"

We all watched as Jessie thought.

"I'll have to see what I can find," she said, making Matt sigh. She looked to him apologetically. "Sorry."
