Arrive (Chapter 50)

Anika's POV

So basically I'm on my way now to the hospital which is 1 hour and 20 mints away from the international airport. I grab a taxi and told him the address of the hospital. I texted Darren and told him that I safely landed in one piece. He replies with an emoji.😌. I close my phone and look outside. The driver starts with a conversation with me. And because I know French we use the French language. (So yeah. I don't know French! So I won't apply it but pretend anyway.)

I found out that Manong driver has 7 children, 3 boys and 4 girls. The oldest was jasmine 23 years old and the youngest was warren 14 years old. He also said that his wife works on a coffee shop near the hospital I was talking bout. "Jasmine is working for a company in Italy" he said. "How about the second eldest inricho? Does he have a job?" I ask. "Well, he was once a helper in motor mechanics but since his first daughter Michael came he stop to take care of her.." He said. "Ow,is that so? The twins Mary and Paulyn? Still studying college?" I ask again. He would glance at the rear mirror and nod or shook his head. "Yes,even though their twins they have different personality.. Back when they were little that would get along pretty well, till they get to high school the other one likes movie stars the other like artist the other like rain the other like sun.. Mary was a nerd type always around books while Paulyn was anti-intellectual .. They would fight over simple things." He finish with gesture here and there. I laugh as I remember the twins earlier.

"How about you miss? Any siblings?' He ask. "I only have one sibling and she's the youngest since it's only the two of us. Her name is honey 10 years old. She was discovered to have leukemia back when she was 5 years old. watching her in pain was the most painful thing for me back then, till I realize much bigger problems like my dad cheated on my mom and the long distance relationship with my boyfriend who also cheated on me and you know what's worse? I was planning on surprising him on our anniversary turns out I was the one who was surprise... On the good side honey heeled she recovers but you can't avoid panicking every time her nose bleeds. And my ex boyfriend who cheated on me, we're together again" I said. We stop in a red light and he  look at me using the rear mirror. "I only ask about your sibling and you told me about your life.." He said then chuckled. I laugh and rub my hands.  Then my phone vibrated.

"Hi Anika!!" The fa ritzy shouted over the phone.
"God,why so loud?" I ask.
"We missed you!" They shouted again.
"I missed you too! And ow, I'm on London right now.." I ask. I heard someone gasp and she was like. "She's here!" And the others we're like "really?—no way!— oh my god!" I laugh as I heard all say those words.
"Hmm where are you now?" Sofia ask. I can hear disco music are they partying?
" im almost at Big Ben.."I said
"We're at roselle's house!she's engage!" Sofia said. "Ow,Fay wants to talk to you!" She said.
"Oh my god Anika where are you!" She said. More like shouting
"Still,the noisy one huh?"I said smiling.
"Still the cheeky one huh? By the way I missed you! I have no one to share the room which is okay!" She said over the phone laughing. Fay and I use to share a room back then till I move out because of my work.
"I think you're already sharing it with someone else!" I retorted.
"Sorry! I can't hear you! The music's to loud!" She screamed.
"Yeah! I've notice... Uhh  Fay,can you call later?" I said then I heard them all shouted as the music vibrated through the phone.
"Uhm Anika we're going to call you back! Bye!" Fay said then drop.

Those party people.
After that we drove off again.. I forgot to tell them about my moms condition. And I also forgot to tell honey I arrive. And now I have a proof that worrying makes you forget things...

After like 45 minutes I arrive. I paid for the taxi and let Manong driver keep the change since he keep me companied. "Mercí" I said then wave at him. He salut and drove off. I entered the hospital and there were nurses running around so I walk faster to the counter and ask about my mothers room. "D271" the nurse on the counter said. "Thank you .." I said I quickly run to the elevator and push the button. Since it's letter D it's on the fourth floor. The elevator opened I got in and press the D button.
