Reasons (chapter 23)

Lili POV

Well it got worse.. Darren and Anika are through and I have this guilt feeling ever since Anika came here.. And I know what's the reason it turn out like this..

---flashback---
It was 6 months after Darren visited Europe..a new boy moved into Anika's subdivision and they got along pretty well.. Cause "kevin" has a lot of common as Anika,. they like neon green,go to the same school,like to goof around.. Smart at science.. And well insecure sometimes.. And because they have a long distance relationship some things don't work out.. And it's getting complicated.. Who knew Darren is a jelly type? He gets jealous every time Anika would introduce kevin to us and when he ask who's with her then Anika would answered.. "Kevin.." The 3hours of talking to each other would go to 30 mints.. I feel pity for Darren.. But now I pity Anika for being betrayed.. Darren had enough of the long distance relationship so he look for someone who could help him get through it..

And the one who was at his side was twitle.. They had fun with each other company not to mention twitle was he's ex crush.. Till they had duets and mall shows.. And most of the aniren fans switch to dartle.. Till they never heard of each other.. The "chummy " couples would celebrate their monthsary or anniversary at Skype or FaceTime. Darren faking things.. Anika being fooled. He told me to keep this all things a secret.. So I did.. I'm he's friend naman.... But Anika was my bestfriend I know her more than Darren . so I still can't believe I didn't told her.. I told jk we should tell Anika but he said.. "Darren is our friend.. That would be betrayal." But I retorted.. "So iiwan natin tanga si Anika? She's also our friend and she deserve to know the truth.." But he replied.. "Let's just leave it alone to those two.."

So wala akong nagawa.. I would call Anika and ask her about kevin.. And her answer would be always.. "He's just my friend." I would tell Darren that but he won't listen.. And he even said.. "She's just saying that cause she's afraid that I would found out but she's already too late.." And he also told me that "Anika broke her promise.. So what's the use of keeping mine?" I was very disappointed.. They let it go for no reason.

Till Darren fell Inlove to twitle and keep it to his family na he's a two timer.. I warn Darren about it but he shrug it off and didn't care.. And now I understand that if you really are Inlove you would go through things that you thought are impossible.. Darren going to this and Anika being hurt so bad.. I can't actually quite explain it..

Then I receive a call from tita jasmine..

Her-hello lili nanjan ba si Anika sa inyo? She didn't came home last night..
Me-po? She's not here.. Tita maybe nan dun kay da darren.. I lied.
Her- no,I called marinel and said Anika didn't have a sleep over at theirs so I thought nanjan..
Me- sorry tita... But she's not here..
Her-ah..ganun ba.. Tell me if you receive a news from her.. I'm getting worried na eh.
Me-okay po tita..

Then ended.. I took a quick bath and change.. Zikia was playing at his room and mom was at the kitchen.. "Zikia tell mommy I'm going to see jk.." He nod and said. "Bring me some pasalobong!" I nod and kiss he's forehead..

I rush to the gates and haled a taxi..
" manong to abs cbn po."
Then we drive.. I was looking at the streets hoping makita ko si Anika.. I wondered if what place would she go.. She wouldn't go to a mall.. She just got her heart broken.. She can't go to some resorts she don't have enough money with her.. So I dialed jk number..

Jk-yes?
Me-Anika's missing.. She didn't go home last night
Jk-ano?! I'll tell Darren.
Me- yes, tell him and I'm almost there.. Let's meet at the main door.
Jk-babe,not the main door.. People would fangirl at us..
Me-fine..the back door nalang..
Jk-ok.. See ya. *hang up*

I also tried calling Anika but.. "The subscriber cannot be reach please try again later." Damn I hate that female voice.

I finally reach the building and paid for the taxi.. I immediately run to the back door.. But the person I saw was jk. Only.

"Where's Darren?" I ask.
"He's also looking for Anika.." Jk answered
"You already told him?" I ask.
"He already know.." Jk replied
Oh right tita jasmine called tita marinel.. Hindi pa alam nila tita..

Shall we go? Jk ask.
"Sure.. But first saan tayo mag hahanap?"
"I don't know bestfriend mo yun."
"Let's try sa manila bay.."
"Then manila bay it is.."

---Darren's POV---
"The subscriber cannot be reach please try again later.." I heard that annoying voice for like 20th times already.. And I'm worried sick.. Even hindi na kami nung una I'm still worried for her.. Why didn't she told she was coming? And what was the stuff she left at the door? I should have known that yesterday was our anniversary...

Then a kid run to me.. He was carrying the bracelet I gave to Anika..
"Wait,kid where did you get that?" I ask. Then he show me the bracelet.. It was slightly covered in dirt. "At the big tree.." He said. "Can I have it? See I have the other pair.." I said showing it to him. At first he was shooking his head in a sign of no. But because of my bracelet twitle gave me. He finally said yes in exchange of twitle's bracelet. Then run. I immediately run to the big treebut when I arrive she was not there.. But there was a trace because there was wet part.. So I guest she was here sitting.

I run everywhere but I didn't saw her not even her shadow.. So I gave up and sat at our balcony.. When I place my hand at my side I touch something.. Then to my surprise it was the ring.. I look around to see if she was here but I failed.. I place my hands behind my neck and think.. "What have I done?" I look at the sky it was kinda gray and the ground is still wet. My eyes begun to be teary..

I'm so sorry chummy...

---Anika's POV---
Ate can I have this? The boy ask.. He sat beside me and ask me many questions.. Like why I'm wet? Why Am i wearing a dress? Why I'm staying here? Do I have a house? Etc. I nod as I gave him the bracelet.. He pick it up though.

"What's your name?" I ask. "Chum. But my friends call me chummy.." He answered. Then he ran cause he's mother called him.. And as the boy was out of my side.. I began to walk and I Took the other route... Till I arrive at our house I look at Darren house and leave the ring at their balcony. I unlock our door and enter.. It was empty. I recalled where our chairs,tables,furnitures tv etc was place and suddenly I felt exhausted.. So I run to my room.. When I open the door my bed was there and one table i lay down and again start crying.. Till my book shelf fell off..

I walk over it and start picking some books.. While putting them to my table I notice one book. It's like something was stuck in the pages.. When I pick it up and open it.. It was the necklace Darren gave me on my 14 birthday.. I look at it and held it.. I place the book to the table while I hold the necklace... I sat at my bed and examine it. And then again tears flows down my cheeks.. I start sobbing and my chest suddenly tighten..
I fell down at my knees and look for my bag.. But I remember I drop it at Darren's dressing room. So I don't have my inhaler.. I tried standing up as I reach for the table but the books got in the way and start falling to me.. My vision starts to blur and. Everything was on slow mo. I look around and feel my lungs burn up.

Then someone was knocking at the door..

"Anika!! Is that you?!" A boy shouted but i was hoping that it was Darren but it don't sound like him.. He's voice is a little deep as I remember.
"I'm-- he-here!" I said between sobs.. Then Footsteps came and Opened the door.. I can only see his shoes and jeans.. He pick me up and carry me I can smell his perfume... "Inhale,exhale,inhale,exhale." He continuously said.. I can feel my self being unconscious and thought what a perfect way to die.. the next thing I knew we are nearly at the door.

TADAAAAA!!! Sad. So sad. Very sad. Walang aniren.. But don't worry. Tiwala langzz. And FYI hindi po ako cassren or kyrren and dartle. Kay Darren lang po talaga ako.. Darrenatics lang talaga. Peace.
