Moment of truth (Chapter 51)

Anika's POV

"What have you done.." Those words came out with poison. First words that fell out of my mouth feels hot water boiling... He look at the floor and rub honeys back. He told nanny vina to take honey outside for some time. Nanny vina took the order.  When they were already outside he walk slowly and look at my mom. He was about to touch her. "Don't you dare touch her.." I said as I glare at him with anger in my eyes. My eyes were red and watery. "Baby,hear me out please.." He said pleading "why?" I ask. Wiping my eyes.. "Look it was an accident.." Daddy said. I roll my eyes at him. "Don't tell me na mommy stab her self she's not stupid like you." I said every word pointing. His eyes shows sadness. "No,hindi ganyan we were fighting and we were at the kitchen and and--" he said choppy. "Why were you there in the first place? This wouldn't happen if you just didn't showed up!" I said almost shouting. "Enough! I have enough of you speaking to me like that! Like Wala na akong ginawang tama! I'm still your dad Anika!give some respect!" He said obviously mad. "Why don't you just leave us alone?! Like you did for the past two years!" I shouted back. He was taken aback.

"I only want to see your sister... I only want to hug her again.." He said in a low tone. He teared up but wipe it away immediately. "But why do you have to stab my mother? Your wife?! For crying out loud!" I said.. But this time a much calmer voice but still have the angriness. He's face puzzled and look at me with a question face on. "I wouldn't stab your mother god knows how much I love your mother.." He said. "But-but you send me a txt.. You said you stab her and she's now in critical condition? It was your number.." I said. He shook his head continuously that it looks like he's getting mad.

"No,I didn't! I lost my phone back--" he said then stop like thinking for the right words.
"It's your mother suitor!" He said then points his index finger in the air like a light bulb pop above his head. "Suitor? Mom has a suitor?" I ask. Shock. He nod and face palm his self. "I left my phone when he stab your mother! When I rush to the car and put your mother there and I drove off while his suitor was left behind! He must have texted you and blame it on me!" He said all jolly like he solve a case.. Well he did solve it. "Unbelievable.." I said pathetically. "It may sound like I'm making it all up but it's true! Baby you gotta believe me!" He said looking into my eyes. "I don't know." I said in a low tone looking away. He frown and stare at the window instead. "Okay fine, you won't believe me then it's okay.. At least I told you the truth." He said then his phone rang. His new phone rang.. "Yeah I'm on my way.." He said. He put it in his pocket and walk towards mom. And kiss her forehead. "I'm going, bye Anika.." He said walking to the door.

When he was gone. I broke apart while looking at mom... "Mom you have to wake up and explain things to me.." I said holding her hand. Then I remember honey was there! She saw everything. I run to the door and about to look for honey when I open it she was already about to grab the doorknob while nanny vina was behind her. she was holding a pop stick. "Just in time.." I said as I let them enter.

Nanny vina left 5mints after. I told her to buy some groceries and she gamely said "of course." I smiled at nanny vina's actions. When the door slam I called honey. She walk towards me while licking her melting pop stick.  I'm sitting at the couch by the way.

"Tell me everything that had happen that day,everything.." I said. She ate all the ice cream— it was already done so she ate it instead of licking it. I grab a wet tissue and clean her hands and fingers who's sulk in sticky melt cream. "Everything?" She ask. As I carry her to sit beside me. I nod. She took a breath deep and exhale.

"Okay, it was noon and mommy was at the kitchen washing the plates while I was at the living room watching tv. Then daddy knock on the door I open it as daddy stand in front of the door smiling he was carrying some foods and groceries. I hug him of course then mommy ask from the kitchen if who was it daw.. I told her it's daddy then I let daddy entered.. He took off the hat as he always did like before and shake his head removing the snow flakes. He walk towards the kitchen to drop all the groceries he brought. Then the fight starts... They shouted and scream then mommy was throwing plates and glass at dad. Then Richard— Mommy's suitor came.--" I stop her and ask about Mommy's suitor.. Like when did mom had a suitor? Are they dating already?

"2 months ago, when Richard came. He live next to us. remember the lot beside ours is for sale? He was the one who bought it. Then after that he keep on visiting mommy till he confess he likes mommy. I was there and he was good to me but I know he only wants to have my trust. So I avoid him and I never talk to him. Mom said I'm rude to her guess. But I think mom don't like her." She said then I smiled kissing her forehead. "You did I great job avoiding that jerk.. Now continue what happened.?" I said.

"Okay so dumating na nga si Richard.. Well he wants to smack daddy's face when he entered he was like "you! I thought you don't love her anymore! What are you doing here?!" Then he was about to punch daddy when mommy stop him. And mommy was like "stop! Richard! His still the father of my children!" Then Richard grab a knife and point it at dad and he keeps on blabbering and blabbering and everyone was crying except for dad. He was scared. *laughs* then he was about to stab daddy when mommy interfere. Stabbing mommy instead of daddy then everyone panicked including me then Richard stood there frozen. Then we rush mommy here then the doctor said the blade almost reach the kidney but thank god it didn't. Dad was about to call you when he can't find his phone." Honey finishes. Like blowing a very big secret.

"So he was telling the truth.." I said. "Huh? Sino? si dad?" Honey ask. I slowly nod then look at her I small smile formed my lips. I search for dad's number but I remember he change his phone. 

Then honey and I heard someone said. "Anika." We both look at each other cause we knew who it was.

"Mom!" Honey and I said at the same time. We rush to her and observed. She give us a small smile. "How are you feeling?" I ask. But she can't talk clearly because of the tube in her mouth.. Since you don't need to call the doctor like the ones on movies you can just press the button beside the bed. Then 2 nurse then a doctor came. They examine mom and do some things on her.

"Your moms okay... Her wound would heel don't worry, and don't let her walk just yet or else her wound would open." The doctor said. The 2 nurse took moms blood pressure and arrange the dextrose. "Thank you doc, hmm can she eat anything she wants or she's forbidden to eat something?" I ask. The doctor laugh a little. "Your one of the most who ask me that,well she's free to eat anything she wants, but remember to control or diabetes and cholesterol would come.." the doctor said with humor. "Thank you.." I said. Then they left. I hug my mom and told her." You heard the doc mom.. Your not allowed to walk." I said. "Yes,I heard." Mom said. She smiled and hug me. Since the tube was already remove but they keep the oxygen. "Mommy!" Honey said almost hitting Mommy's wound. "Sorry.." She said then grin.  Then my phone rang. It was Darren. I excuse my self

"Hello Espanto.." I said all jolly.
"Kumusta si tita?" He ask.
"She's awake and she's fine." I said smiling
"Good to hear.." He said relief was heard in his voice.
"How are you guys there?" I ask.
"Well, the gang is here but don't worry Wala dito si Tiffany.." He said
"Okay.. Gotta go Espanto take care." I said
"Okay, love you!" He said.
"Yeah,love you too!" I said when I look at honey and mommy they were grinning.

I walk back to them when my phone ringed again. But it was just a number.

"Hello?" I said
"Is this mrs Figueroa?" A deep man voice ask.
"No,I'm her daughter.." I said
"So you're mr Carl Rex's daughter?" He ask again.
"Yes..is their a problem?"
"Your dad got into an car accident" the man said.
I drop my phone and my eyes became teary again..

"Not again."

Another accident! What's with me na mahilig ako ngayon sa accident?? Hahaha it's not funny tho,  and if you notice my title was a song.. Hahaha
