"MICHAEL. HURRY. UP" Luke shouts from downstairs. I shuffle around my room quickly, flipping things over to find one thing. Minutes later, I hear loud footsteps coming up the stairs. "Hold on, Luke! I'm trying to find something" I mumbled the last part to myself.
Next thing I knew, Luke was practically kicking the door down. "May's shift is almost ending" he says in an angry tone. "I know that. But I can't find my phone" I explained without looking up at his cold glare. "You mean this phone?" he asks, annoyed. I shot my head up in his direction to see him holding my phone out to me. "Where did you find it?" I lunge towards him, grabbing the phone.
"It was downstairs the whole time, idiot" with that, he rolls his blue orbs and goes back downstairs. A second later, I followed after him. Keeping my distance.
Luke didn't say a word on the way to the car and the way to the small cafe his girlfriend works at. "Hello, babe" he winks once we enter the busy place. "Hey, Luke!" she says over the chatting of the many people. "Hey, May" my bracelets dangle as I wave at her. She smiles quickly at me before taking somebody's order.
"Now, what would you like?" she asks me first. "A Coke will be fine" I said with a half smile. She nods and turns to Luke. "What would you like?" she bites her bottom lip while staring up and down at Luke. "You" he said simply with his signature cocky smile. This disgusted me, still. Every time May tags along with Luke and I, they always flirt and do coupley stuff. While I stand in the corner, being a third wheel.
May's cheeks blush but she ignores it and says, "No, seriously Luke. What would you like?"
Luke and May giggle as he orders what he actually wants. Luke suggested on paying for the both of us because 'he wants to'. Which actually means, 'I feel bad for you because of your near suicide incident and about Hanna's death. And plus you are having financial troubles'. Another example would be how Luke always suggests on me working here with May.
"So, guys. Now that we are graduated folks, how does it feel?" May wiggles her eyebrows at Luke and I. "Still feels the same" I said quietly. "I feel like a free man" Luke says in between laughs. "I miss high school" May frowns.
Yesterday had to be the worst day of my life. It was graduation. Yeah I know that you're supposed to feel free and happy but I didn't. I saw how everybody was hugging each other and kissing their partner. Watching everybody, I stood there wishing that Hanna was by my side. To bring it up, it made me even more sad. More angry than I was, too.
"Hey guys, I have to get back to work here. So, I'll talk to you two later" May leans across the counter to give Luke a kiss. He blushes, again. "Come on" I groan and open the door again. A gust of wind hit me hard.
As I fixed my red hair, Luke opened the door and started to hit my side frantically. "What?" I asked in an annoyed tone. "Look" he whispered in my ear. I looked up at Luke with furrowed eyebrows. His eyes were wide, he looked pale, and he couldn't stop staring at something. I followed his gaze on a girl.
At the sight of her, I almost dropped my drink and myself. "Am I the only one that sees her? Please tell me this isn't some kind of joke, too" Luke said with quivering lips. "One, this isn't a joke. And two, I can see her too" I gripped onto my Coke tightly. "Good" Luke whispered.
It couldn't be. She was so gorgeous. Every single curve and every single detail. It was like Hanna was here. She looks exactly like Hanna. A twin she didn't know about? A clone? You know, scientists say that there are 7 other people in the world that look like you. Maybe this is the case. Maybe, maybe not. But whoever she is, it's making me feel some type of way.
"Let's just sit down and enjoy this hot day. Yeah, maybe the heat got to us. Yeah, that's it" Luke rambled on and on about God knows what. I took a seat with my shaking body besides Luke. Finally, he stopped talking.
"She looks just like her. Like Hanna" I gape. "I know!" Luke yells. The girls head snaps up at us. Her eyes. It looks like the same eyes I've yelled at and loved. "That's it. I'm calling her over. Excuse me?" I threw a hand over his mouth, although it was too late. She looked up at us with a smile. "What is your name?" he calls out. The girl stands up and starts over at us. "Hayden" she says with a smile.
"Hello, Hayden. You look so much like a girl we used to know. It drove us crazy. We had to make sure it wasn't her" Luke said, motioning towards me. "Where is she now?" she takes a seat at the table. "Hell, probably" Luke shrugged. I stepped on his foot, he didn't react.
"Oh, I'm so sorry" she placed a hand over her heart. "It's okay" I shrugged before taking a long sip of my Coke. "Was she your ex?" she asks me. I nod. "Well, maybe we can be friends" she suggests. "It'll be like a new beginning"
"Sounds good"
