I'd been running for about a day and a half when I felt the kanjis on my wrists, ankles and neck start to burn, telling me that one of the 'Family' members was angry. I stopped and closed my eyes as I began to see things through Master Rasa's point of view.
~~~~~
"Where is she?!" he yelled at his children, making Temari flinch and grab hold of Kankuro, who looked confused and afraid, but Gaara had his arms crossed as he stared at his father with indifference. Rasa turned to him and narrowed his eyes. "What did you do?" He asked suspiciously. With a straight face, Gaara answered, "I killed her."
"What?" he asked behind clenched teeth.
"Hard of hearing?" A moment passed before Rasa asked him, "Why." He stared into his sons eyes and saw a flicker of the monster inside. "When the moon is full, its blood boils. She interfered and payed the price for it." He turned and slammed his fist down on the kitchen counter. "Damn it!"
"Father, its fine, we can just get another maid." He didn't even turn to look at Temari. "She wasn't a maid, Temari, she was a slave from the Hidden Willows. And she wasn't cheap."
"A slave?" he looked over his shoulder at his daughter. "Yes, and because of who her mother was, she's worth over Five Million Ryo."
"Five Million?!" Kankuro shouted, completely shocked at how much I'm worth. "Yes. Her mother was Anju Uzumaki, The Great Sealing Tiger. More than likely, Ginko would've been just as well known." Everyone was quiet for a moment as they all slowly began to realize the truth of the mater.
"You wanted to use her." Gaara growled in anger, shocking everyone. I felt Gaara's anger run through me as it were my own as my head started to throb in pain.
I switched from Master Rasa's point of view to Gaaras.
I saw Master Rasa glaring at him. "I'm glad I killed her." Gaara spat as the setting changed. He was staring out over the village from the Kazekages tower.
~~~~~
I opened my eyes and quickly removed my bag, placing the Tiger Seal on it. I dropped it and stepped back as I made the hand sign Tiger and thought of Gaara's necklace.
'Teleport.'
I got a tingling as I teleported to Gaara's location, moving faster than my diseased uncle, The Yellow Flash. When I saw Gaara, I placed my hands over his temples as I focused my chakra. My hands instantly started glowing a pale green color as I relieved Gaara of his headache and calmed Shukaku down, eventually silencing him.
I watched as Gaara's pained, and angered face was replaced by his usual emotionless one. "You kept your promise." He said quietly, losing the menacing look that was always in his eyes. I smiled at him and kissed his kanji. "Of course I did. I always do."
His eyes softened completely as he uncrossed his arms, letting them fall to his sides. I let my hands fall as well as I leaned forward and rested my head on his chest. Gaara stayed silent, not doing or saying anything.
This was our way of hugging each other when we needed one. It's been over three years since I've had a real hug, but I'm not complaining, I've had Gaara for a little over a year of that time. I closed my eyes as the sound of his beating heart filled my head.
"You better leave before someone sees you."
I opened my eyes and pulled away. "Yeah, you're right. But before I go," I stood on my tippy toes and kissed his cheek. "Happy birthday, Gaara." I stepped back and made the hand sign Tiger as I thought of my bag.
'Teleport.'
